2026 NEW THERAPY and SERVICE DOG COURSE SIGN UP! “Donnchadh”(Duncan) Course starts Wednesday January 14th 2026 and will run until August 2026

(“Donnchadh” is the Gaelic name for “Duncan” and was the name of the Scottish King Robert the Bruce’s dog in 1306. Duncan saved the Bruce’s life allowing for the line of descent to Mad King George III in 1775 where his ill advised actions directly led to the American revolution and the creation of the United States).

Orientation will be at West Oaks Academy School AD Mims Road Orlando at 7.30pm

The course is of 7 months duration and consists at least 100 hours training including tutored mandatory visits, personal training and mentored training) it will certificate AKC Canine good citizen (CGC) AKC CGC (Advanced) and AKC CGC (Urban) as well as the Pawfection final public access test at Disney Springs. There will also be 3 multiple choice theory quizzes for the handler (taken online on canvass).

Times, days and locations for the tutored visits vary throughout the course but the course allows for a great degree of flexibility for you as we know you have busy lives.

The standard of Pawfection therapy dogs is the highest in the the USA bar none and this is reflected in the number and variety of groups and organizations that request our dog’s attendance.

The course is $175 per month for the 7 months and dogs may have more than one handler participating.

Dogs must be over 7 months old at the commencement of the course and not aggressive towards humans or other dogs.

Pawfection dog training “Simba course” completed their final test today and will now join “Odin Course” for Graduation on Wednesday. These dogs will now join over 200 Pawfection therapy dogs already working in the community in Central Florida proud to be bringing much needed high standards to the therapy dog world!! New course will start in January 2026 call 407 456 1066 for details.

Super proud of the Pawfection teams who delighted Fox 35 with their visit this morning in the 10 o’clock hour! Amy Kaufeldt sent me this after the visit with her and Ryan Elijah’s thanks - it seems Winston (the broken shopping cart) stole a few hearts!!

This year you may see our Pawfection therapy teams supporting the Salvation Army collectors outside large stores.

There is a special and little known link between the Salvation Army and Pawfection dog training that stretches back over 160 years. In 1865 in an impoverished area of east London William Booth was seeking funding for the formation of his “Christian Mission” (renamed in 1878 the “Salvation Army” when it was organized along Military lines) a main benefactor at this time was Alfred James Whale …. My Great Grandfather on my mother’s side.

Had a great time at our 3rd Suds Pups and Pints event with the JCS family in support of a great cause! Loved meeting both new faces and old of the listenership and sponsors. Pennie and I want to thank everyone for their well wishes many of who also visited Pennie’s Dr, Aimeigh Worley MD at the Alliance OBGYN tent next to ours. Thank you also to over 35 of our 85 Pawfection therapy teams who once again made their smile makers and cuddle bunnies available to everyone , these tireless volunteers service over 80 locations free of charge in Central Florida so we are so grateful for them giving up their Saturday!

We are looking forward to welcoming you all onto the upcoming therapy dog course (Sophie course).
The orientation will be at West Oaks Academy School on Wednesday September 24th 2025 at 7.30pm. Your instructors are Troy and Kelly. No dogs at this meeting as this will be all administration and information.
On the night you will need;-
+ Pen, notebook and your calendar
+ If you are paying by card each month details of the card you would like to put on file
+ If you are paying by Checks > One check for $50 per handler (for equipment and training shirt)dated 9/24
> Seven (7) post dated Checks for $175 dated from 9/24/25 to 3/24/26 respectively (remember the date changes to 2026 from January) Please have these pre written made out to Pawfection dog training and in an envelope clearly marked with your name and the dog's name.

Prior to the course and as soon as possible could you please text me separately on 407 435 2210 with the following information
= The names of all people who will be participating on the course
= The cell phone number for the main participant
= The T shirt sizes (include whether Male or female style) - the T shirts generally run 1 size smaller than your normal size so order up.
= The email address for the main participant
= details of your dog - Breed, age, s*x
= State whether this is to be a Therapy dog, Service dog or both.
= If this is to be a service dog whether you have had in home training with us already and what you need the dog to do for you. Please remember you do need to have been diagnosed with a qualifying disability under ADA rules

We know you are going to love this course and you and your dog will benefit immensely from it as will the thousands of people whose lives you will touch going forward.
