📣 New Round of Dog Training Classes Starting in October! 🐾

We’re gearing up for our next session of positive-reinforcement dog training classes—and spots are filling fast! If you’ve been thinking about joining, now’s the time.

🗓 Available Time Slots:
✔️ Tuesday AM
✔️ Tuesday PM
✔️ Wednesday PM
✔️ Thursday PM
(Limited spots available)

✅ Details:
• $150 for a 6-week session
• Maximum 6 dogs per class
• Minimum 2 trainers per session for individualized attention
• Training is rooted in positive reinforcement—focusing on building trust, having fun, and encouraging your dog to succeed
• Classes include safe, structured off-leash play to help dogs build social skills

🚫 Requirements:
• Dogs must be social with no history of dog aggression or resource guarding
• Dogs over 1 year of age must be altered (spayed or neutered) to participate

🎓🐾 Graduation Spotlight: Ellie 🐾🎓

Ellie is a 2-year-old Dachshund adopted from the Wisconsin Humane Society. She came to me with anxiety, barking, and reactivity—but thanks to Jeff and Kathy’s hard work, she’s on the right track!

✅ Barking cut in half
✅ Calmly sits to go outside (no more demand barking)
✅ Learning polite greetings with “Say Hi”

We still have more to build on, but Ellie’s progress is proof that patience and consistency work. Way to go, team Ellie! 💙

🐾💙 Meet Leo – one of our longest-staying residents who’s still waiting for his happily-ever-after!

This handsome guy has so much love (and energy!) to give. Here’s what makes Leo, Leo:

✨ Professional ball-chaser – he’ll play catch until your arm gets tired.
✨ Peanut butter connoisseur – just the sound of a jar opening makes his tail go wild.
✨ Water lover – kiddie pools, sprinklers, or a hose, Leo is all in!
✨ Loyal to his people – once you’re in his circle, you’ve got a best friend for life.

Leo does best in a home without small animals since he has a high prey drive, but with the right family, he will shine brighter than ever. After being overlooked for so long, he deserves his chance at a real home where he can finally rest his paws.

Teaching a Life-Changing Skill!

In this clip, we’re training a service dog to alert their hearing-impaired owner when the washing machine or dryer has finished its cycle — a task that brings real independence to everyday life.

Every step of this training is done with positive reinforcement, building trust, confidence, and enthusiasm in the dog.

Why we NEVER use harsh methods (like electric collars, prong collars, or choke chains) — especially with service dogs:

🔹 Trust is everything. Service dogs rely on deep, secure bonds with their handlers. Harsh tools can damage that trust.
🔹 Confidence is key. Punishment-based tools can create fear and uncertainty—exactly the opposite of what service dogs need to perform reliably in public.
🔹 Long-term behavior matters. Positive training teaches dogs to love their job and think independently, not just obey out of fear.
🔹 Service dogs face the world. They need to be calm, focused, and emotionally balanced—something that forceful training undermines.
