Final Power Hour Story: Jack š§”š§”š§”š§”
Does this look like a kitty who was tossed outside like garbage then shot for being on someoneās property? You would never know this is a huge part of Jackās story besides his movement. His heart is the biggest, most kind ever to anyone he meets for all heās been through. The true definition of resilience.
Jack came to us from a smaller rescue in Yuma. They didnāt have all the resources available for all his needs, but got him a good start to a second chance. He came to them after being adopted, passed along to another family who then didnāt want him, thrown outside, and shot which left a BB in his spine and hind end paresis. By a miracle it seems he found the rescue. We were happy to help him get the further help needed!
He met with our neurologist and after a medication trial and improvement, was able to successfully have the BB removed. This has since continued Jackās movement and comfort, which was the hope. He still needs help going to the bathroom which is okay and he chooses to walk around the best he can everyday. Through every single event, Jack has always been in good spirits and friendly to every human he has met and continues to meet. Heās truly an amazing cat and very soon has finally reached his āready for adoptionā chapter š§”š„²

His surgery to remove the BB in his spine area is set for Sept 23rd and we want to make sure his costs are well covered to give him the absolute best next chance. The medication trial proved hope and the outcome of helping him get around even better is what Jack deserves.

18 lives were rescued and are about to be changed forever as of yesterday, 08/27. With all our wonderful adoptions lately, we were able to help Casa Grande Animal Care and Control, a rural shelters with very little resources and a high need for help! We left them with so much kennel space for more lives to be saved. Itās so heartwarming helping make a difference in these lives rescues, for the shelter and even more at risk that now have a chance at a place to go ā¤ļø
We couldnāt do pulls like this without our amazing supporters. The majority of these kitties are waiting to be altered while some still need time to grow. Any contribution towards their care is greatly appreciated as we get them to their goal of adoption ready. Just $5, $20ā¦even a share of this post can go a long way!

Itās Tiny, But Mighty Tuesday š¾
Meet Ru, one of our many recent #tinybutmighty warriors. She was brought as a bottle baby to her foster momās workplace (vet clinic) where she took her to give her a fighting, loving chance. This was new for her foster mom, but sheās done so well with her care and learning Ruās new everyday norms! Our neurologist believes she was born this way and we are treating her like a normal kitten, taking things day by day as she keeps growing. She may need one of the hind legs amputated in the future, but time will tell. Otherwise she is doing great and really living her best little kitten life! Just look how she zooms! š
We will update as we can and are not accepting inquiries for her adoption anytime soon. Send her love on her journey!
Sweet Sugar Ray is doing so well! š
If you donāt remember or know, heās our rescue from Santa Cruz County Animal Care & Control who needed his leg amputated after encountering a protective dog while trying to find safety from a storm. Heās getting around great as a tripod and still is as loving as ever all things considered!
Thank you to all who donated and our volunteers who picked him up and have fostered him. Without you we couldnāt have made his next chance at a wonderful life possible! If youād like to contribute to his continued care or medical bills, anything is greatly appreciated as always š Even just $5 can go a long way in the rescue world!
Stories like these we wonāt ever understand, but we are so happy to welcome Jack to SACR and Hunter's Kitten Lounge where he will reside. Please read below š§”
Jack came to us from a smaller rescue in Yuma, Homeward Bound Rescue. He started out at Humane Society of Yuma where he was adopted from, but then was rehomed by the family. The new āfamilyā that got him abused him and threw him outside emaciated which in turn somebody then shot him with an air rifle leaving his hind end irregular. When we learned this, we felt shocked and sick that someone could just do that to this sweet boy. The Yuma orgs no doubt felt the same and we are glad he was able to find his way back to them!
Jackās hind legs arenāt normal now, though he does attempt to stand at times and use the litterbox as best he can. We are going to take him to our favorite neurologist at Tucson Veterinary Specialists soon to get some further info on a plan for him. For now heās cozy at the lounge and enjoying all the love he gets š§”
If youād like to contribute to his care, anything helps! $5 on this Friday may seem like nothing, but every dollar adds up in a big way in the rescue world. Please also send him love as we navigate his journey š«¶š¼
