There is nothing more beautiful to me than a healthy barefoot hoof 😍❤️

Every horse and every hoof are different based on the life it has lived so we build a customizable package based on their individual needs.
There is nothing more beautiful to me than a healthy barefoot hoof 😍❤️
Got to attend a fantastic hoof clinic held by Meader Supply yesterday!
Went to a great clinic held by HorseShoes Plus and led by Betsy Lordan!
When I look at this hoof I'm blown away by the gorgeous sight of strength 💪 and structure 🕍. Getting here has been quite a journey of trust, patience and a whole lot of cookies 🍪 Our first trim was a lot of dancing 💃, a few seconds ⏱️ of holding up the hooves and then plenty of breaks with lots of scratches. I could only hold a few of my tools at a time because the stand was apparently a purple monster 👾 that wasn't allowed to be near him. It's been almost a year 📆 now that we've been working together and this last trim he didn't move a hoof the whole time 🗽. Plus he even let me use the stand! Slow and steady has won this race and the results are gorgeous 😍 ✨️ 🤌
EasyCare Versa Glues with Rocker attachments to help ease breakover. The added mechanics will put less stress on the internal structures of the hoof by allowing breakover to be closer to the center of rotation. The rockers attach easily to the bottom of the shoe with 8 screws so they can be added or removed at any point during the shoeing cycle.
This gelding has a list of pathologies that make soundness hard to achieve. Luckily he has an owner that is determined to do what ever is necessary to help him achieve it. He's been loving these Versa Grip Glues by EasyCare Inc. The Ultimate in Hoof Protection
This transformation story is a beautiful one! Gracies owner wanted to try her barefoot and after we pulled her shoes we realized she had some pretty significant white line disease. Through the diligence of her owner treating her hooves, resection every trim and new material in her paddock we finally have a beautiful and healthy white line. I love when I come out to trim and I can tell the owner has been putting the work in to treat their horses hooves! You can see the artimud still packed in her collateral grooves 😍
I can only do so much when I'm out to trim, it's up to the owners to put in the work to make a big difference!
A whiteline disease hoof wall resection to remove the infected material. The first picture was after a resection last cycle and the 2nd picture was after a resection this cycle. We were finally able to get to some healthy hoof wall after trimming out the diseased section.
If I could teach my cow how to use a hoof stand there's no excuse to why your horse can't. Take the time and train your animals to be safe for the farrier to work on.
A side by side comparison of an extremely overdue trim before and after
Thank you Meader Supply for a great clinic with Dave Farley presenting and sponsored by the Educational Partners of the Hoofcare Essentials Foundation yesterday! Loved getting together and seeing everyone for some education and networking.
Watching this horses hoof transformation has been so satisfying.
In the first set of pictures from September we can see how the hoof evolves from;
⛔️Steep coronary band
⛔️Broken back HPA
⛔️Long bull-nosed toe
⛔️Central sulcus thrush
⛔️Weak digital cushion
⛔️Underrun heel
⬇️To 5 months later in February we see;
✅️Relaxed coronary band
✅️Normal HPA
✅️Strait dorsal wall
✅️Healthy frog
✅️Robust digital cushion
✅️Strong supportive heel
Can you believe this owner was told her horse could never go barefoot?!
A beautiful healthy barefoot draft cross hoof that I had the pleasure to trim today 😍💜
A perfect wittle mini donkey hoof 👌💜🫏
I will only do an overdue trim for a client one time. If you don't stay on a 4-6 week trim cycle after that then you will immediately be removed from my schedule. Allowing this type of leverage leaves the whiteline susceptible to whiteline disease and causes excess strain to the tendons and surrounding ligaments of the limb. My job as a hoof care provider is to keep the hoof healthy and I cannot do that if they go too long without a trim.
Even if the hoof "looks" like it doesn't need a trim to a client chances are I'll see indications that it does. A hoof should never look like it needs a trim, by that time the hoof capsules and internal structures are already suffering.
Adjustment of a medial/lateral imbalance. Due to an old injury this horse loads his hoof unevenly causing his medial wall to wear more and his lateral wall to flare with growth. We keep him in a short cycle to correct the imbalance before it puts any more strain on an already damaged limb.
Amazing what some proper trimming with a healthy cycle length can do for a hoof 😍💥❤
A couple shoe jobs from this month 👌🩵💫
Thank you everyone for a fantastic 2022 season working on your equines. Cheers to 2023 being another great year 🎆🎉🎊🥳
Easycare Versa Glues in action 🎬 👌 🤩
A Long overdue trim on an aged gelding that is now happy to be on a regular trimming schedule. All that length was putting unnecessary strain on his limbs causing him pain and discomfort. He walked off instantly happy after having all that removed.
Tis the season for ice, snow and winter studs ☃️❄️ All composite shoes will be required to have studs for added traction from now until spring.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! I'm so thankful for all my clients and their amazing horses and donkeys 💛🦃🧡
A beautiful mustang hoof to brighten your Friday 💜🌞 😁💜
Artimud and Clean Trax heals again!! The difference in just a 4 week cycle is remarkable with how fast this central sulcus thrush was able to be eliminated. This is all thanks to the diligent efforts of the owner constantly packing with Artimud along with cotton in order to keep the product packed inside the crevis after an initial Clean Trax soak. The Artimud and cotton makes a protective barrier that does not allow manure and bedding to pack in which would further the degenerative thrush infection. The reason I push this treatment is I see it work time and time again in a short period which allows the horse to regain its comfort as thrush can be extremely painful.

Big trim on a little pony. Previous farrier never mentioned how laminitic the feet were and was keeping the hoof capsules this long. I educated the owners that while trim can help in this case a diet change is what will keep the hooves from progressively falling back into this state. Short trim cycles and a diet change should have this pony back to a healthy condition.
This is one reason why I like to discuss diets and making sure your horse is getting what it needs, which might not include smartpak strips 2 miles long and 3 hoof supplements. Take them forage first, test your forage, then add in what’s missing! So many ways to do this, it’s not fancy, it’s not hard it’s just the simple way horses are suppose to be fed!
I love how well a mustang hoof cleans up!
Love watching this mares hooves grow into healthier hoof capsules. The owner is diligent about diet, environment, protection and body work which has caused the new healthy growth. I am only part of the progress and the rest has to be done by the owner. She shows just how far you can come with the right steps!!

Last trim this client almost got removed from my schedule. He was leaning, pulling and dancing the entire trim. I could barely get the job done and it was beginning to be unsafe for me. After the trim I discussed with my client that next trim we were going to implement a different training strategy. This is the result. Amazing what some perfectly timed cookies can accomplish. #hoofcare #farrier #training #horse #Equine

I love being able to help release tension with myofascial massage. Lots of licking, chewing, eye softening and even a little drool at the end! This mare had a hard jumping career before her new owner picked her up and has been doing a great job with working at rehabbing her tight compensated body.
Easyshoe Versa Grip Golds all around on Sapphire with some patriotic glitter in honor of Memorial Day 🇺🇲❤🤍💙
Jack Jack got to be my first client to try the new Easycare Versa glue-on shoes! He's usually really difficult to shoe but this process was super easy for him since its done weighted. I can't wait for the shoes to hit the market because I think this is going to be our new favorite set-up!
Sometimes you have to think a little differently to get the job done. If the horse has a will to live then I'll find a way to get them trimmed.
Did an overdue shoe pull and trim on a gorgeous appy this week. They don't always clean up this good but I love when they do! The worst his hooves suffered was his front left developed a large subsolar abscess at the toe where the shoe put excess pressure on the sole.
I ask all my owners to switch their horses over to a forage based diet when I first start trimming for them. I notice every time they don't listen to me by the quality of the hooves. They ask me how to fix the chipping, cracking, thrush and whiteline disease and every time I repeat DIET, MOVEMENT, and ENVIRONMENT. I constantly point out the unbalanced diet causing cronic laminitis and sometimes it's not till it get to this point that they hear me. Let this be a warning to everyone out there that over feeding your horse is not love, it's abuse. Grain companys have a whole marketing team paid to convince you that their product is great for your horse. They'll have you feeding pounds of highly inflammatory ingredients (corn, soy bean meal/oil, sugar, iron, canola meal/oil etc.) so they can make more profits producing cheap product with a great feed bag full of empty promises. If everyone could stop feeding sweet feed I swear all the farriers and horses would be thankful! This horse was being fed 9 quarts of Poulin Charger a day and being stalled at night with 1st cut and alfalfa. As a result his cronic laminitis has him sinking in both fronts and his RH is giving out from solar abscesses blowing out the coronary band and heel bulbs. He is now fighting for his life as I try to remove every inflammatory trigger and get him on the right diet and trim.
My own mare Sapphire needed a set of shoes because the constant wet has made her soles thin again. She's been making such great progress with her hooves I didnt want to take any risks since shes prone to sub solar absecesses. Thoroughbreds commonly have thin soles and when their environment is constantly moist the sole doesnt build depth as well. When the sole is weakened this can lead to solar bruising and ultimately subsolar abscesses. Subsolar abscesses need to be addressed by a veterinarian as soon as lameness is present. These can blow strait out of their heel bulbs if not addressed in time from the infection building pressure until it bursts out of the soft tissue. Awareness and prevention is key when dealing with pathologies that could potentially cripple your horse.
Quick clip from a mini trim I did the other day! She was overdue but cleaned up nice. Mini to Draft a 3-6 week cycle is still recommended! Just because we cant "see" the immediate strain to their tendons, its there with every step.
Are you having trouble collecting and feel like you can't build topline? 🐎 First look at your horses diet! Are they getting proper mineral supplementation to feed their bodies muscular, skeletal and neurological needs? After your horse has the building blocks for repair have a look at your horses Ventral Chain. 🐎 These are the muscles that run under the pelvis, over the abdomen and under the neck. 🐎 "Without abdomen muscles there is no back" 🐎 If you have tension or adhesions in the fascial tissue that make up the ventral chain this will start locking down surrounding muscle tissue. Ultimately this will lead to poor conformation, an unwillingness to work, poor manners and finally muscle atrophy and/or soft tissue tears. 🐎 ⚠️🛑WARNING!🛑⚠️ When working under your horses pelvis always stand in a safe area next to the shoulder to avoid kicks. Some horses can be extremly sensitive in this area and will side kick. 🐎 Start right under where the pelvis meets the abdomen and start working the tissue lightly with your fingers raking foward. Go slow and only do as much pressure as your horse can handle, they're great at letting you know! Muscles should be soft and supple, tight and tense muscles need a very light touch in order to start them moving (think if you cant move a little, you definitely can't move a lot) but you can increase the pressure as the muscles relax. 🐎 Enjoy and have fun stretching that Ventral chain while making your horse imitate a giraffe! 🦒 #horses #horsemassage #release #myofascial #equine #equinetherapy #stretchingexercises #stretch #loveyourhorse
