The problem with horse training is that society is set up to believe that you can buy a service and have things the way you want in a certain time frame. People look at horse training as if they're spending their money on a product. And yet even the best horse trainers will tell you the horse takes its own time, and no one can guarantee a horse will be doing what you want from it when you want from it.

The other problem is that even if your trainer can get it done with your horse, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will be able to. Getting a horse right takes an amount of commitment on the owners part to develop the same type of relationship that the trainer has, otherwise how can you expect from your horse for yourself what your trainer gets, when it's they who have put in the hours, the and sweat, the patience and the desire to get along with that horse? You aren't spending money on a tune up for your car that you can take home and drive.

The fact that money is involved leads people to believe they deserve something for what they paid, and they do, but, it happens in the animals time, not the humans. I think any good trainer would say they would do this for free if they could, just to help horses and people. And yet, we all have to eat...

Last night sawyer came home with reserve champion in her division at the banquet! So proud of this kid!! Her first belt buckle 💙👑

Even our favorite leadliner from our Joyful Farm friends came home with a title as well! 🤩

I’d like to take a minute to say I am one lucky trainer to have such great riders, parents, and friends that come through my doors and in my life

These riders are talented, kind, brave, strong, and so supportive of not only each other but others around them. The sportsmanship was OUTSTANDING!

We not only worked together as a team making sure each horse was cared for and needs were met. But also complimented other riders as well, lended a hand where it was needed, cheering for most runs, ribbons were given to those we thought deserved it more than ourself.. all while just having fun!

This is what it’s all about. We need more of this in the horse world.

Not everyone got a ribbon this weekend but we definitely won anyways. 💁🏻‍♀️

I’m so proud of our barn family and friends thanks for making it so great💙

That’s a wrap!! New England Equestrian Center of Athol gymkhana was a success! We had 6 horses and 8 riders running. Memories were definitely made.

Our first full week for summer camp is a wrap! We had a blast learning about vet care, making sale ads, learning to ride, making new friends and team building! If you weren’t able to make this past week, we have availability for 2 intermediate riders for our July 31-august 4th camp!

Adria is a personable and talented girl. She has three beautiful gaits, is a very soft and responsive ride, and can take a joke. Adria requires an advanced rider with soft hands, an independent seat, and who wants a horse that can work! No buck, rear, or bolt. She is gunfire, road, and traffic safe. Is used to sirens, loud vehicles, and atv/dirt bikes. Has lived on a main road most of her life. She does best with consistency and performing a job. Is best suited for working cows/ranch type work, western dressage, versatility, ect.

Her resume is extensive and she participated in many horsemanship clinics. Here is a short list of professionals she has worked with: Craig Cameron, Jason Drass, Clinton Anderson Ambassador Liz Deluca, Tom Curtin, Peter Whitmore, and Sandy Hodskins. Resume with dates and some videos/photos available upon request.

Adria self loads, bathes, ties, and is excellent for the farrier/vet. Requires front shoes (can go into more detail in pm). X-rays are available upon request and PPE exams are welcomed and encouraged!

I’m excited to find this girl a home. She’s just the sweetest mare and so smart. Super soft, responsive, and eager to please! For being a western horse most of her second career she doesn’t look half bad in English 😉

And that’s a wrap!! WOW! We had the most amazing group of riders. There were memories made, tons of laughs shared, and friendships made. We learned everything from first aid, anatomy, parts of the tack, horse maintenance, and so much more..

It was so much fun it was unanimously decided and very much asked to do another!

April and summer programs now accepting enrollment for 2023!! 💙💚

Day one of camp was a HUGE success!! We did so many fun things with these lovely ladies and really got to know each other. Now to wait and see what we do tomorrow… 😆
