We're revising the timing for our next litter of Anatolian Shepherd puppies. Instead of a Fall litter, we are waiting until next year and instead looking forward to getting Lyric, and her older brother Grimble, back into the show ring in September starting with the Anatolian Shepherd National Specialty being held at Purina Farms. We're kind of happy not to be having a winter litter though playing with pups is our favorite pastime.

So we decided to try something new with our two older Dandies and Barn Hunt seems like a fun thing to do - plus we found out classes are held just 10 miles from where we live. This is going to be interesting. We were doing some Facebook searches for Barn Hunt pages and came across something really cute we wanted to share since there are quite a few breeds available with their own Barn Hunt design - maybe even your breed!!!. KM Lay - just search for his page - designs t-shirts and more with fun Barn Hunt designs and he's done one for Dandie Dinmonts. Happy 3rd birthday to a special dog - Grimble. Anatolian Shepherd owners know this breed is very versatile and while livestock guarding is in their blood, they can also excel in the show ring and other activities. Grimble is a good example of that versatility. Started with sheep as a puppy, his gentle demeanor led us to believe he could also serve as a therapy dog. Today he is an AKC champion, a registered therapy dog, and a certified farm dog. And now we are thrilled that his OFA results on his hip evaluation came back as "excellent" and you can't do better than that. Happy birthday you big beautiful boy😍🥰😘

Dogs have been a huge part of my life since the day I graduated college and during that time numerous litters of puppies, all of which could boost strong pedigrees, have been born here.

Now we are planning a Fall of 2024 litter of Anatolian Shepherds that is truly exciting. Folks know that we have sheep as part of the Valais Blacknose Sheep breed-up program - and people ask us "What do you do with them?" Well, pretty much nothing except for breeding the next generation and having some pretty neat pets! However, as this attached document shows, maybe we missed the boat on a new and rather interesting venture!

With 2023 coming to a close, we wanted to brag on the accomplishments of two extraordinary dogs – Montizard’s Grimble and his younger sister, Montizard’s Swan Song.
Montizard’s Grimble, aka Grimble, started the year by becoming a certified therapy dog. Due to his size and his sweet demeanor, he is a huge hit during our therapy dog visits. We ended the year by becoming a therapy dog team with the USO and we’re looking forward to many visits in 2024 with military personnel.
He completed the requirements to become an AKC champion in November. As I wrote in a previous post, his wins were accomplished only through the help of some really awesome professional handlers since knee and ankle issues prevented me from presenting my dogs effectively. So, heaps of thanks to Kacie Davis Jordan and Cody Wright for Grimble's earlier wins and to Deanna Rotkowski for piloting him to his title.
Montizard’s Swan Song, aka Lyric, had a good year, too. During 2023 Lyric qualified for her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title and her Canine Good Citizen Urban (CGCU) title. She also obtained her FDC – Farm Dog Certified title. And in November of 2023, thanks to the handling skills of Teresa Rogowski and Deanna Rotkowski,` she picked up 5 more points toward gaining her AKC championship title.
Looking forward to a lot more fun with these two in 2024!!!

Merry Christmas from all of us at Lambkin Lane Farm to all of you. This year the sheep and the dogs decided to celebrate the holidays at a Montana Ski Lodge. Hope they're having fun!!
