Well I can’t say Jake is sad the puppies have all found homes 😅. His best friend Emmylou has been pretty tied up with the puppies for the past several weeks, and he has been missing his time with her. They’re making up for lost time now, though! 🐕 🎾

As you may have noticed we have been silent for a while on here. 4 weeks ago today, our little mountain town changed forever. Hurricane Helene brought devastation to houses, beautiful landscapes, and families. Many people lost everything that day, and some even lost their lives. We were luckier than many, with our house and family intact. We spent a week cutoff from the world with no way out, and no communication to the outside world for days. We watched neighbors’ houses wash down the river in front of us.

Things are starting to feel more normal, and power finally returned after 3 weeks without power or reliable water for our house. While things are returning, it will be years before this area rebuilds and returns to its formal glory. Keep Fairview and the other areas in your hearts and prayers as we dig our way out of this destruction.

Today is Emmylou’s birthday! Happy 2nd birthday to our girl. She has been an excellent mother to her babies. Today also marks 8 weeks since her litter was born, so 3 out of 6 are headed off to their new homes this weekend! One is hanging out a little longer, and the other two girls are still looking for their families.

This vivacious boy has found his furever home! His name is now Smoke (formerly green boy), and he will live out his life with a built in Siberian Husky best friend.
