As you may have noticed we have been silent for a while on here. 4 weeks ago today, our little mountain town changed forever. Hurricane Helene brought devastation to houses, beautiful landscapes, and families. Many people lost everything that day, and some even lost their lives. We were luckier than many, with our house and family intact. We spent a week cutoff from the world with no way out, and no communication to the outside world for days. We watched neighbors’ houses wash down the river in front of us.
Things are starting to feel more normal, and power finally returned after 3 weeks without power or reliable water for our house. While things are returning, it will be years before this area rebuilds and returns to its formal glory. Keep Fairview and the other areas in your hearts and prayers as we dig our way out of this destruction.
