I think about this particular cabin a lot, and namely just because like. I think people in my age group tend to view building your own home as an unobtainable thing that only rich people pay others to do, and that.... simply doesn't have to be the case. Certainly, a home built by yourself doesn't have to be this bare bones, but I think just seeing other people do stuff like this can be so helpful to seeing it as possible yourself. My personal commune ideal is to buy land that has a house already on it, and then build from there, but the options really are limitless.

There are a million and one cheap ways to build housing. I've seen this same concept done so well, and often even better than this. Building your own housing from the ground up is not inaccessible. It is, in fact, an obtainable reality.

This is shockingly similar to what we've been talking about. Fewer people, and they obviously went into it with more money, but the end result is very good. AGAIN, OTHER PEOPLE ARE LIVING THE DREAM. WHY SHOULDN'T WE?

This is what a group of us have been sitting here and talking about as absolute endgame best case scenario for a community. Say, ten year goal. The point is to have things that can be used by the community, but also things that can be in some ways monetized to help with earning and continued support and building. This is just a cental hub, that wouldn't include housing, nor does include chickens/goats/whatever else. What would you want to see? What would your dream living situation include room for?
