Trialing new treat bags. Wasn’t liking the aesthetics of the freezer bags even though they held up to refrigeration. Pawprint bags do not hold up to cold or moisture. Trialing these bags. So far, the down side is flavors like Echo (coconut) and Luna (beef tallow) has spots that appear through the bag from the oils. 🤦🏻♀️ Not too much, but enough I’m watching. 🤷🏻♀️
I skipped out on the Farmers Market in TC this AM due to the rain. I knew it would cost more for me to drive in than I would make with the weather.
Our website has been updated with what’s available.
The Winnie repair was a way larger bill than expected and funds are low for Monday and Tuesdays vet visits for Arlo, Quinn, Tucker, Aspen, Blue, and Shiloh.

Sadly, our cute paw prints were not holding up to the cold. I was baking all week for the market and storing in the freezer until market day, but the bottoms of the paw print bags were breaking.
I switched to these compostable, BPA free freezer bags. I also got a small printer to add the label to the bag which includes the ingredients so you want have those pieces of paper in your boxes anymore when I shop of ingredients:)

Honey harvesting 💜🐾
I currently I have two hives and I didn’t sn**ch the honey last fall from my supers because I didn’t have time 🤦🏻♀️ Finally did 🙂 filled a 5 gallon bucket.
I have two more nucs coming Monday so I will have 4 hives this year. I thought mine didn’t survive winter, but turns out they did. Best tasting honey 💜🐾
I will be baking our honey into our treats 🙂

I didn’t get baked what I had needed to help with Ditto’s surgery expenses.
I had to bake for the winners for the auction and get everything weighed and shipped for the winners, so I ran out of time 🤔
I know I just had the SCMR Pupfins and Elvis’s Pupfins available, but that is what I had for supplies readily. Sorry for lack of variety. 🤦🏻♀️
Apollo’s I baked the most of, 30lbs. Now his have yogurt chips, so sometimes they melt or caramelize on the bottom of the cookie. They are still edible for the doggies, I promise 💜🐾
The Pupfins are baked fresh to order because they have a shorter shelf life.
I work a double tomorrow (Monday) so baking for Pupfins will be Tuesday.

With my work schedule Monday, I will bake the Pupfins starting Tuesday night. All orders will start shipping Wednesday just due to my work schedule. (I work both jobs Monday)

I don’t have fancy labels for each bag, but I pack an 8.5inch by 11in piece of paper with each cookies ingredient and it shows to refrigerate.
I do not use any artificial ingredients, but I do use real
Meat. They are fine for shipping because I dehydrate for 24hrs, but they need refrigeration when they arrive.
I have now purchased a label for the back reminding also of instructions.
Below each cookie on the website also has storage information.
I will also be purchasing stickers now for the box to also remind of refrigeration upon arrival 🙂
Next week I will be purchasing cold packs to remind also to refrigerate.
Just trying every which way to help remind to refrigerate the cookies :)

Why do SCMR treats so long to bake and get ready? Well, I don’t mess around with ingredients. I use real meat products straight from the grocery store. (Low sodium bacon😉)
I buy produce fresh each week with baking too if the recipe calls for it. This summer, I plan on using local ingredients whenever I can 💜🐾
I make small batches so the treats are packed with flavor.
This weekend I will be baking and once they are weighed and ready to go, I will post which treats and I will set the site with an inventory of what’s available, so when they are gone, they are gone. Then I can package them and ship without folks wondering where their orders are.
I have 5 lbs of Lucy’s ready to go! This is the last time Lucy’s cookies will e available 💜 Each dog that passes, their cookie retires. 🥺
Malakai’s are the only exception 💜

All orders from this past weekend are going out 2/15/24. It took me a little bit to get the new shipping method figured out, but they are all labeled and awaiting pickup today.
For the upcoming weeks until Ditto’s surgery, all proceeds from the cookies will have to go to her surgery expense as we currently do not have the funds to cover even all of Dobby’s surgery today. (I’ll pay it off later like everything else 😂)
Thank you all for helping in anyway possible to cover the surgery expenses. It’s just a really short time to come up with $8,000, but you definitely helped out with the costs 💜🐾

Making SCMR “canned food” Yes, my fridge with my food died this morning. Some of the freezer clean out meat was in my freezer for room. I had to cook up some of the dogs frozen food to save it. As I said, I’d normally making this with more water but with excess meat that I didn’t want to lose, it was thicker. I remember where I put the bowls with what pills. I pick certain dishes, as they are all different and I know who’s pills went where. My food always gets less effort 😂 Watch till the end. This was a fancy dinner tonight 😉

Coming soon! Picky Husky Dust 😂 It will be 8oz of that weeks flavors ground up to add as a food topper. If you own a husky, you know that their eating habits can be hit and miss. Luna is by far my worst, but she will beg for as many Barkery treats as I will let her have. Shiloh is also one of my picky girls, but here she is gobbling down her food with Picky Husky Dust
