how to interact with a service dog 🐕‍🦺

🐾 approach the handler, not the dog
🐾 never touch, speak to, photograph, or feed a service dog unless the handler gives you permission
🐾 a napping service dog is still on duty
🐾 if a service dog approaches you, follow it back to its handler! The dog might just need correcting, OR the handler could be having an emergency.
🐾 keep your dog and other pets at a distance from service dogs; they are at work
🐾 treat the handler with respect and sensitivity

How I set up my (adult) dogs crate!

- lay down soft blankets
- a pillow to lean/ rest her head on
- A nylabone or chew she can have unsupervised
- fresh Kong before every long duration of time we are out of the house
- water bowl with a small amount of water

*each dog is different. I set this up knowing my dogs ability to handle each object inside, and the possible risks. If your dog is likely to ingest/ destroy something, DO NOT leave the item in their crate unsupervised*

Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you can’t give your dog exercise! Games like this can give your dog both mental and physical enrichment!

Have you ever experienced resource guarding with your dog? It can be very frustrating and even get dangerous. The next time you see your dog showing signs of resource guarding, think about what message you want to tell them before you react!

Hi all, I just wanted to share my appreciation for everyone’s understanding as I navigated my recent family situation. All clients have been so understanding and patient, it warms my heart to be working with such great people (and dogs).

That being said, I am officially back in Mass and on normal scheduling starting Monday. If you have any questions regarding your upcoming lessons feel free to reach out, but all my weekly pups can count on their lessons being as planned.
