Hi Generation Family! I was contacted tonight by someone in the Colorado Springs area that found a lost dog! Do any of you know anyone missing a dog that was found in the area of Cheyenne Canyon in the SW area of the Springs? Intact male, well trained, cropped ears, wearing a Herzog collar. Young seeming. The lady that found him has posted on lost and found but has had no response. Please share if you are in the area! Thank you! I don’t think this is one of our dogs but can’t be sure!

🖤 Sadie Von Furstenburg Ruddell 12/15/18- 02/14/24🖤

It is with tears streaming down my face and a broken heart that I share the devastating news that our beautiful Giant Schnauzer Sadie was hit and killed last night on the road by our house. The only solace I can find in this tragedy is in knowing that it was instant and she felt no pain. It is even more heartbreaking that as far as I know she has never ventured onto the road before, as she was the least exploratory dog of all of ours. She wouldn’t even walk all the way around the property with us without a leash. Though she loved a good game of fetch, she was really most content just lying around on the front porch, and being as close to us as possible.

I share these photos as a memorial tribute of Sadie, always our faithful and beloved first mama dog. She brought immense joy and unconditional love into our lives, leaving a permanent mark on our hearts. She was the reason we started breeding Giants! It was because of her that we fell in love with the breed and wanted to bring that incredible joy and love into other people’s lives.

Sadie was more than just a pet; she was a loyal companion and a cherished member of our family. Her last litter was born December 14, 2023, just short of her 5th birthday, and she was all set to live out the rest of her life being the retired queen of the castle, spoiled and happy. I’m so sad that she won’t be able to enjoy the retirement that she so richly deserved.

Her natural beauty and sweet spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. Her mature presence was a source of comfort and relief during difficult times, especially when training our younger, wilder schnauzers. She was a great leader and such a patient mama. Her unwavering loyalty was a constant reminder of the power of the unconditional love of a pet.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our dear Sadie. While her physical presence may no longer be with us, her spirit will forever live on in our memories and in the love she left behind. We find solace in knowing that she is running freely over that rainbow bridge, chasing butterflies and basking in the warmth of the sun or snow (she loved both) and drinking all the water she could ever want and eating all the yummy treats forever.

Sadie, you will be deeply missed, but your paw prints on our hearts will never fade. Thank you for the years of joy and love you brought into our lives. Until we meet again, rest peacefully, sweet angel. You will always be our beloved Sadie Bear.🌈🐾

If you have one of Sadie’s offspring, give them a special hug for us please! 😭 We are honored that her legacy will continue to live on through the generations of her amazing puppies. 🐾❤️
