**REUNITED** - 6/2/23 - "Brahman" is Safe!
After 12 days on the run, Brahman was safely captured on May 31, 2023 at around 3:00 AM. It was difficult to get a handle on “Brahman” due to the fact that he was being pursued and called out to which made him very unsettled and would cause him to RUN! When a dog is lost, all they are thinking about is staying alive. Anyone and everyone, owner and people familiar with the dog included; are looked at as a threat. The best way the public can help is to keep eyes on the lost dog, and report with time, location and direction of travel.
We needed “Brahman” to find a quiet spot where he felt safe so we could trap him. On day 10, our volunteer was in the area to move equipment when a real time sighting came in due to the flyers that had been put up in the area. In fact, we had 3 sightings in the same ¼ mile area that afternoon. Our volunteer worked quickly to get permission to place a trap and camera in the area seen. The farmer whose property we needed to be on was very kind and allowed us to do what needed to be done. For that, we are very thankful.
Finally, at 3:00 AM, “Brahman” showed up at the trap area and wasted no time going in the trap for the flavorful food waiting for him.
Brahman’s” family was dedicated to getting him home safely and were a great help to our Find Toby Field Support Volunteer. Thank you for sticking with us and trusting us to get him back home. Welcome Home, “Brahman”.
