Meet Chester.
{swipe to see his initial session video }
Chester is one of our newer 9 week students who is here to work on his anxiety and severe dog aggression. Chester originally attended doggie daycare before coming to us which worsened and enhanced some of these behaviors due to the misreading of the dogs and their “type of play.
Chester also redirects onto the leash when frustrated and over threshold. This behavior can become very dangerous if left unaddressed for the owner. While Chester May only have 3 legs he is still extremely strong.
During his time here we will be focusing on teaching him better leash manners, dog neutrality, proper socialization and more. A big focus will also be towards the owner by teaching them how to properly read their dog, advocating for him and guiding him through difficult situations. Stay tuned for his progress ♥️

Go out and train!
9 weekers are just 3 weeks shy of heading back home 🥳 time flies by! Did you know All the student dogs pictured were dog reactive and look at them now! Benefiting from structure , feedback, consistency and strong relationship with the handler. Pretty soon the owners will be taking over 100%😍 great job team.
Watch the process of us working with Oso and his anxiety in a course of 4 weeks.
This will remain something that has to be continued back home as we have 1.5 years of unintentional reinforcement for this behavior.
But this showcases what consistency can do for you and why mindset is everything before leaving that door.
Super proud of this team !
9 weeks gave us enough time to rebuild his confidence, rebuild his owners confidence and focus on multiple behaviors.
From an anxious overstimulated dog to a dog that has learned to look to his owners for help 🔥🔥
We couldn’t have said this better !
Thank you @emileemahar for letting us share this.
P.s
The biggest disservice you can do to your dog is FORGET IT IS AN ANIMAL
No matter what at the end of the day it is a different species it is not a human therefore does not receive information the same way a human would.
If you want to keep seeing the issues you are dealing with such as anxiety, aggression , frustration, fear based issues then continue treating it like a human.
There is a reason there is an increase in the behaviors mentioned above. Because this society is truly forgetting how to treat dogs like dogs.
As true dog lovers it saddens us to see this happen. Don’t know where to start ? Reach out to a trainer and be ready to receive feedback. Some changes are going to have to be made. However this is where we have to put OUR emotions aside and do what’s best for your dog.
We love client pupdates! Seeing owners practice their homework back home is AWESOME!
Maple came to us a scared dog with zero socialization
We focused on building her confidence
Showing her the ropes and educating her owners with how to continue this back home.
Here they are now practicing leash drags and working on OFF leash training
Great job guys !
Are you doing this ?
You may have unintentionally created a pulling dog
An anxious dog
And a dog that has learned to ignore you when other “more stimulating “ things come into the environment
No matter how often you talk to your dog they do NOT SPEAK the same way you do
The small things add up
Most will say that the dog in the video is a “happy dog” that just wants to say hi
But what we see is a dog that is STRESSED because he doesn’t not know how to handle constant changes in his environment
This leads to anxious behaviors inside and outside the home
He doesn’t know what to do and he definitely doesn’t know that he can look to his owner for help when he’s confused which continues to teach him to default to the unwanted behaviors because that’s All he knows at that time…..
Need help with your dog work with a professional to make sure you are doing the right thing 🙏🏽 it will save you a lot of money in the long run if you start right first

It’s amazing what the e collar can do when introduced properly
Give your dog the freedom they deserve with the reliability you need around distractions you cannot control

Hey everyone ! Welcome Theo who has been with us for 2 days now.
Theo suffers from some bad anxiety when out in public, aggression/reactivity towards strangers/vet staff /grooming or environments where he feels trapped.
He also can become extremely pushy when he wants attention from his owners while they tend to other things outside of him. If they don’t focus on him he will become frustrated and become extremely vocal.
Another of his owners concerns are that he struggles when people visit the home, vet visits and any encounters with people out in public.
In this specific session we are working on simple hand feeding exercises paired with some eye engagement.
Tools used first days : slip collar , muzzle and food.
Before we can even think about correcting behaviors or putting the dog in difficult environments we have to create a relationship first and TEACH the dog the first.
His owners did a wonderful job of working on their hand feeding homework for two months while they waited for the start of their program and therefore have made the relationship building process a lot smoother with his trainer.
Building a relationship with Theo is extremely crucial. If we want the dog to look to us for guidance we will need to develop trust.
Patience is key during these exercises and during the initial transition week.
This is what most people consider the “boring part” of dog training. Nothing flashy here or exciting however this is the gateway to building trust and engagement. This has taken several mini sessions to get Theo to eat out of the hand.
