Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
Orange.
Orange who?
Orange ya glad it’s a pumpkin and not something scary?

It’s okay, Huckleberry! We will give you a treat just for being cute - no trick required😊

Are you all ready for Halloween? Got your costumes tried on and good to go? We don’t want any last-minute sewing or gluing or pinning situations happening.

And beagles: your treat bag has to be small enough for you to carry. There.Will.Be.Enough.

Little Lucy is putting together her wardrobe for her first Colorado winterđŸ„¶
This California girl is in for a surprise, but, luckily, she sure can rock a knit!

We think Lucy, aka Bella, is one of the cutest little snow bunnies you’ll ever see😍

You: Beagle lover/dog lover, patient and kind, lots of love to give.
Webster: Perfect.
His foster mom says, “ What’s not to love?”

Webster is great with other dogs and very sweet.

In the few weeks he’s been out of the laboratory, Web has shown great courage in adapting to this new world and life outside of a cage.
While he is still nervous and anxious with sudden motion and noises, Webster is learning to trust and gaining confidence every day.

This is the little beagle who wouldn’t come inside the first night with his foster, and tucked himself inside a bush and didn’t want to come out. Now, Webster can often be found in the middle of his foster mom’s bed😊

Webster is ready for his forever home!
We think he will do best and be happiest with another dog or two and a fenced-in yard.

A seriously lovable beagle boy, you’ll be the lucky one if you adopt Mr. Webster. You’ll be saying, “Where have you been all my life?”

Webster is 5 years old and in Southern California.
Out-of-area adopters will be considered.

Apply to adopt Webster on our website:

Whenever I get beaten down and overwhelmed with rescue and feel like it’s too much, too big, we can’t do enough and we’re not getting anywhere, I’m going to think of Marge.

Marge was rescued from a cage in a laboratory, rode across the country, stepped out onto grass for the first time, and was scooped up into her new mama’s arms and never looked back.

Onward and upward, full of love and, I believe, gratitude, Marge is now officially a beloved family member, formally adopted, and filling her new home with beagle glitterâ˜ș

You inspire us to keep on keeping on, Marge!

If there were a Tinder for dogs looking for forever homes, Cosmo would no doubt get nothing but “swipe rights”!
Who could resist those puppy dog eyes?

Cosmo is, indeed, available.
If you need to know anything beyond that face and those eyes: Cosmo is about 8 months old, playful, great with other dogs, and super sweet and cuddly. He is going to be a wonderful companion and family member💙

Cosmo came to us, along with Bluebell, from an abusive situation. Both these sweet kids had Demodex mange but look at him now! Thanks to his awesome foster mom, Lilly, Cosmo is a very healthy little beagle boyâ˜ș

Cosmo has had a great beagle foster sis in Daisy, learnin’ him how to be a “very good boy.”

Cosmo is in Southern California but an out-of-area adopter will be considered so get your application in: cagetocouch.org (link in profile)

Let’s start this week on a feel-good note!

Tormund (Ash) not only was adopted together with Lyanna (Poppy) from our last rescue, he now has two other beagle siblings and a human brother💙

This was one of those moments in rescue where we’re reminded again we get to meet some pretty great people.

This family learned of the rescue while boarding a plane overseas, called us and said they’d adopt two beagles when they got home
I figured we wouldn’t hear from them again but “penciled them in.”
They literally called us the day they arrived home!

They knew they were a perfect home for laboratory survivors; they already had adopted two Envigo beagles.

Tormund is still very skittish but he’s gaining confidence every day. It’s amazing what love and patience can do!

Thank you, Maureen and Chris, for adopting Nala (Hannah) and making her part of your family. I think Nala knew she was home the minute she saw you💗

It must be such a relief for survivors like Nala to see nothing but love in the eyes of people around her, and only gentle hands reaching for her.

We know you’re going to have a wonderful life now, Nala!

My job is better than yours! I get to rescue animals and meet incredible people who want nothing more than to give those rescued little beings love and more love💗

We’re thrilled to share that Sadie (formerly Jasmine) found her human/her human found her, and has been adopted!

This sweet little girl has a beagle sister named Cody and is already out hiking and having adventures! We think she’s looking like a true California girl😍

Charlotte, aka Charlie and sometimes, “Little Moo” asked us to let everyone know she’s ready for her forever people.

Charlotte is being fostered by C2C alumni/Envigo survivor Matilda and her family, and Tilly has been a wonderful big sister to Charlie, helping her learn all the ways “of dog.”

Her foster dad says, “I think she learned to trust doorways and enjoy walks from Tilly. She likes walks enough now that she does a little twirl when she sees a harness.
She likes to run and play with Tilly.
She likes to chase fast things: leaves, toys, butterflies.”

Charlotte is three years old, still a little shy and wary of humans from her life in a laboratory, but now she wags her tail and approaches people.

We think Charlotte would like a home with another dog and if there are butterflies, that would be great, too.

Apply on our website to adopt Charlotte: cagetocouch.org

Belinda has a list of to-dos and she is busy checking them off.

1. Find a way to get out of the laboratory. ✅
2. Get yourself into a great foster family. ✅
3. Make sure you can’t have puppies. ✅
4. Get your shots so you stay healthy. ✅
6. Take some great head shots. ✅
7. Show how smart you are and learn to sit super fast. ✅
8. Learn to walk on leash
. in progress.
9. Conquer your anxiety
 in progress but much improved!
10. Find yourself the perfect forever home.

Belinda is gaining confidence and learning to trust humans more every day. Her foster mom says Belinda now comes to humans and asks for pets and is good with being picked ip, too.
Belinda has found comfort in her crate since we rescued her; it is her “safe place.”

Oh, and she likes socks.

Six years old, and not quite four weeks out of the laboratory she’d known all her life, I’d say Belinda is doing great!

We are running adoption applications by her right now, so if you want to help Belinda check off number 10, apply to adopt this sweet little beagle: cagetocouch.org

And we do mean little. Belinda is about 17 lbs.

*link to adoption app in our bio and stories, too.

Just stop it, Destiny. Stop being so darn cute!

I get to see Destiny often because she is being fostered by C2C alum Rosie and her mama, and they live right up the street from me.

A more perfect little beagle girl you will not find.
This tiny dynamo has learned to sit, she goes on mile-long walks, she’s friendly and happy to meet new fans, and she loves to cuddle, which is great, because she is so stinkin’ cute💗

After living the first six years of her life in a laboratory, Destiny, aka Desi, is ready to find her forever home.
She’s in Southern California.
We do adopt out of the area but adopters would need to come to SoCal to pick up Destiny.

Apply to adopt on our website: cagetocouch.org

Check out our stories to see how it came to this to keep Jasmine from accessing her surgery site.

She is a little Houdini beagleđŸ€Ł

All of our girls from our Summer Love rescue have been spayed and had dentals while they were in surgery.
Their teeth were TERRIBLE, poor babies.

Several of them were eating only soft food, so we will see if their mouths feel better, how they’ll feel about crunchy food and treats now.

Everyone is up on our website and we’re reviewing applications for adoption!

Bluebell and Cosmo are now at University Veterinary Center so we will know soon what’s going on with them and get these two sweethearts on their way to health and happiness.

Wow, what a story, though, already.

You can dwell on the negative, the person who was seen beating them, or you can focus on the positive: the man who confronted the abuser, the woman who took them into her care when they had no place to go, the doctor who is ridiculously busy but said, yes, “bring them in,” the people who are offering to foster, and those who have already donated for their veterinary care.

We choose to be inspired by the positive, always.

You can apply to foster on our website: cagetocouch.org

If you would like to donate towards our veterinary care - we’ve had a lot lately with spays and dentals and medical treatment for our recent intake of 20 laboratory survivors, and now Cosmo and Bluebell, you can donate through Venmo or PayPal:
or thru our website: cagetocouch.org

Thank you everyone, for what YOU do to help those who cannot help themselves.

***URGENT*** FOSTER NEEDED ASAP***

Two beagle pups. Would really love to keep them together. I think they’ve been through a lot of bad stuff together.😞

One boy (lighter coat), one girl.
Good with other dogs and friendly with people.
Orange County only,

DM me, please, if you can help us help these two start new lives.

It’s been less than two weeks since Wilma busted out of an animal testing laboratory and ran around on grass for the first time, and she has learned so much, even, apparently, how to give a little attitude. (See second photo)

✅ Already walking pretty darn good on leash
✅ Getting the hang of pottying outside
✅ Most importantly, Wilma has learned what it means to be lovedđŸ„°

We still need fosters and adopters!! Many of our fosters stepped up intending to foster for a short time, just so we could take in these kiddos and get them right into homes.

We’re reviewing and interviewing applicants now.
Apply to foster or adopt at cagetocouch.org
