Look at that smiling face!!!
Jack (aka Fido) brings the happy and we are so incredibly happy that this fella thumbed a ride to New Mexico!

Jack met up with Buddy from our Magnificent Seven rescue of Sep. 2023, and the boys became fast friends - fast!

We are so happy for Buddy, who had been missing Frankie, the little Envigo beagle who passed just a few weeks ago. Well, Buddy and his family have all been missing Frankie. Buddy, though, is a beagle who came from the laboratory with a great deal of anxiety, and regressed after losing his Frankie.

The first night in the motel room as they made their way home, we received this text:
“Jack in a short time has taught Buddy the joy of jumping on the bed and to get in Mom’s lap. These are two things Buddy has never done.”

Jack was at the shelter, taken in as a stray. We rescued him to help empty the shelters for animals impacted by the LA fires, and then when we met him, we had a hunch he might be perfect for Buddy.

Karen Davison wrote, “Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”
Or sometimes two!

Thank you to our incredible foster Maria Selby who made room for Jack asap so we could get him out of the shelter asap!

How are you doing on your New Year’s Resolutions?
Bluebell has already checked off one!

This little smarty pants graduated from basic obedience. We hear she was top of her class☺️
Does that make her top dog?😉

Next up: Nosework!
She’s a busy beagle girl!

Where Lucy (Bella) lives, it was -6 degrees F, and the county sheriff’s office put out a message about caring for pets in the cold: “Consider replacing walks during the cold spell with mental stimulation such as puzzles, Kongs, and toys.”

Lucy’s mama said, “We tried a puzzle. Lucy thought it was dumb.” 🙄

I wouldn’t be surprised if a few pieces got “beagled” and went missing.😉

We got him!! And are we the lucky ones - what a gem💙

The shelter named him Fido but we’re calling him Jack and let me tell you, Jack is one SUPER SWEET fella😊
Thank you to for taking in this stray boy, and to for coordinating the rescue transport.

Jack is estimated to be five years old.
He has a beagle-y appetite, rides pretty okay in the car, and just wants to be petted and give sweet kisses!

Jack is at the vet right now for a wellness exam. Thank you Dr. Ash for fitting him in asap!

A shout out to the other rescue orgs that collaborated on this rescue of 34 animals from to help support animals impacted by the wildfires: and and and !!

Rescues are trying to help empty the shelters so there is room for more.
We’ll pull as many as we can from the shelters - dogs and cats - as long as we have foster homes.

Bodhi (Cheddar), his brother Jason, his two little human siblings, and his mama had to evacuate in the early morning hours yesterday.
Their mama said, “I packed both babies and boys up in literally 20 minutes.”
I would imagine those were some incredibly anxious 20 minutes.

They were able to tuck in with family nearby and are safe.

Those are a couple of concerned faces on Bodhi and Jason, but it looks like once they got to safety they settled in okay💙

This is not a time to hesitate to ask for help.
We’ve been checking in with our C2C family who we know are near the fires but if we haven’t contacted you and you need help, please call or text!

Judge to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Ridglan Farms for animal welfare violations!!

“The order stems from a filling by Wayne Hsiung, Dane4Dogs, and Alliance for Animals that presented evidence of animal abuse at an evidentiary hearing Oct. 23.”

MADISON, Wis. — Dane County Judge Rhonda Lanford appointed a special prosecutor to investigate alleged animal cruelty violations by Ridglan Farms in Blue Mounds.

Boris is trying out a different perspective for 2025.
I think he may be on to something.

Boris is one of our special medical needs rescued beagles. He is a “forever foster,” being loved and cared for as a beloved member of an amazing family with Cage to Couch providing support for veterinary care.

This older gentleman needs a good amount of managed care after being surrendered to the shelter with symptoms resulting from severe neglect - all this after surviving time in an animal testing facility.

This handsome fella is Sunny and we need your help to find him a home! Please like, comment, and SHARE, to get him seen by the right person.

Sunny is a 3.5-year-old neutered male German Shepherd, weighing around 65 lbs. He’s a beautifully trained companion who responds well to commands like sit, down, stay, leave it, and more.

Sunny gets along with other dogs, and while cats don’t bother him, his primary focus is always his human.
He is happiest spending quality time, whether that’s playing fetch (he loves his ball!) or relaxing with cuddles. Sunny is usually quite calm, but he has an energetic side and is always ready for a good play session when you’re up for it.
Sunny has a soft coat💙

Sunny is looking for a loving home where he can share his playfulness and affection - ideally with no kids.
He will thrive with an individual or family who can provide him with both companionship and playtime.

Marge and Sadie from our Summer Love rescue had a reunion a few weeks ago.

I bet they had a lot to catch up on☺️

Not only are these two girls from the same laboratory, same rescue; they’re actually sisters!

I can definitely see the resemblance😍

I can tell you, too, they are both very sweet and a little bit sassy little beagles.❤️

Cosmo is growing into such a handsome beagle💙
