This year and always we are thankful for clients that hear us. Believe it or not, one of the scariest things groomers can do is sometimes just communicate with a client. We are afraid that a client may not understand what we are communicating, may be offended, may even blame us for causing something that we are just pointing out or trying to bring to their attention.
These boys, Brooks and Brownie, have been with me for 10 years and still sometimes the anxiety of clear communication is there.... even though their mommy is the sweetest most understanding person. During a visit earlier this year we noticed Brownie had red eyes and took a picture to show mom. At first we thought maybe stress? Then 4 weeks later we noticed the eyes were still pretty red at drop off. While on a table we showed mom the redness in the whites of his eyes. She hadn't noticed but promptly took him to the vet.
Poor Brownie had glaucoma. After several visits to the vet and coming to the realization that this was something that was quickly progressing, mom made the decision to have both eyes removed. It was not an easy decision but the best for Brownie as other options were not successful.
Seeing Brownie and Brooks on a regular schedule allowed us to see changes in his behavior and physical health. We look at every pet closely while in our care. While we are not vets and cannot diagnose, we can bring attention to something that may be a problem and alert a pet parent that may bot see what we see. Thank you to everyone that hears us and is willing to listen to our advice. It makes it a little easier for us when we have to communicate something scary.
We are open today to get in as many dogs in before Thanksgiving. While we are booked, we are available for nail trims.
