Good information as always from Missing Dogs Massachusetts:

With the holidays upon us many are taking vacations and leaving our loved ones with pet sitters, friends or family members. Dogs in unfamiliar places or situations should be considered Flight Risks.

Have you checked to see what your sitter is doing to ensure your dog will be safe?

- Are they following your wishes to not take your dog off leash while walking?
- Do you have your dog on a martingale collar?
- Is any fencing secure?
- Have you asked them to leash or crate your dog before opening doors?
-Is your dog's microchip registered?
- Does your dog have ID tags with your current contact information?
- In the sad event your dog goes missing, do you and your pet sitter have a recovery plan in place?

Please consider safety when selecting someone to care for your precious family. No one can ever be too cautious when it comes to pet safety!

Still missing - Walpole MA

Reunited!
Ellie, missing from Walpole for 7 days is safe!!!!
A real time sighting came in this morning, and her owner got to the area as quickly as she could.

Ellie's mom followed all the right steps. She got low to the ground, started talking calmly and quietly. When Ellie saw her mom sitting on the ground and heard her voice she started coming over to her and was soon in her lap giving her kisses!

Ellie's family and friends trusted the process and followed all the steps and guidance given. Hundreds of Flyers were hung in the area which helped generate sightings. A special thank you to MDM volunteer Erin T.L., Kim, Haley, Caroline, and Christina. Welcome home, Ellie!"

UPDATE 11/26/24 STILL MISSING Ellie is still missing. The have been some potential sightings in the area of Southridge Farm. If you live in that area or any surrounding areas please check any and all outdoor security cameras. Please keep an eye out in your everyday travels. If you see her or think you may have seen her call or text the number on the flyer as soon as possible. She is extremely skittish. DO NOT APPROACH HER, CALL OUT TO HER OR TRY TO CATCH HER. SHE WILL RUN. We need her to feel safe enough to settle down in one area so that we can set up our equipment and safely bring her home. Just contact 508-455-7451 or 508-699-9294.

Ashland, MA area: Adding info about other cats/dogs.

A client has a friend with cancer and not long to live...this woman has two cats, Orville and Wilbur, two boys who are brothers, bonded to each other, 11 years old and very healthy. Their guardian is worried about finding a new home with them soon...

Can you add 2 sweet boys to your home? Or do you know someone who would be a good match?

Help us help this woman know that her beloved cats will be well cared for.

"Indoor/outdoor. They have lived both ways. At first they were free to go outside through a cat door, and they roamed the (low traffic) neighborhood, After Wilbur got hurt, J kept them inside for a few years, and they adjusted well to that. Now they go out occasionally (no cat door) but I think they mostly stick to J's large garden. I think they'd be okay either way but should probably stay inside until they've adjusted, though they'd like to be able to look out.

They haven't lived with dogs, but dogs have visited, and the cats have been fine with them."
