🐾🌟 Meet Hope, the newest member of the Bondurant Emergency Services family! 🌟🐾

Hope's journey from stray to certified therapy dog is truly inspiring. It all began with a desire for a station dog, but we knew Hope needed a purpose beyond companionship.

Recognizing the mental health challenges faced by first responders, we embarked on a journey with Crisis Canines of the Midlands. This led us to Hope, who was born on Valentine's Day 2023.

After rigorous training, Hope graduated from the TEAM K9 Academy as a Certified Crisis Response Canine! 🎓🐶 She's not just a dog; she's a symbol of hope and support for our team and community.

Best of all, Hope's presence comes at no extra cost to taxpayers. She's here to serve and comfort, ready to make a positive impact wherever she goes.

As Hope's handler, I'm honored to be part of this journey. Join us in welcoming Hope to the Bondurant Emergency Services family! 🐾💙

The City of Bondurant is experiencing a large increase in population causing a demand for more park space. In the past three years, the city’s budget has allowed for 7 new residential/neighborhood parks. We are making progress! The children’s population is outgrowing the newly renovated/reorganized schools. The businesses in town are slowly growing and our trail system is expanding, which is attracting more traffic to town. Incorporating a dog park would certainly increase the resident’s quality of life.

Other benefits include creating a sense of community, socializing dogs with other dogs which promote acceptable behavior, decreased crime, human health benefits, increased interest from potential homebuyers who want to move to a community with a dog park, and much more. Dog owners are taxpayers, just like your baseball player neighbors and your neighbors who are parents. If your community spends tax dollars to build recreation areas like baseball fields and playgrounds to accommodate their recreation needs, even though not every taxpayer plays baseball or has children, then the community should accommodate the recreation needs of dog owners, too.
