Took Finnegan to Lowe's last night to practice working in a distracted environment. He was awesome! 2 years ago he couldn't respond to cues, forget offering behaviors.
Huck and towel time.
Who is tired of drying off their dogs? Huckleberry says he can dry off himself!
Do you have plans on Sunday? Come watch Finnegan play agility at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center from 8-5. Watch how we have worked though some of his ring stress.
This was from Thursday. So much fun when he wants to play, too.
Huck regains confidence for his pen.
Huckleberry during an attempt to remove his bed from his pen (this is a normal behavior for Huck) the pen fell over, scaring him.
Put on trainer hat that honestly always stays on, worked Huck to regain his love for his pen. I used the treat and train, remote treat dispenser, to increase his desire to be in the pen. I then tossed a treat out of the pen which allows Huck to go back in the pen for more treats.
Another training opportunity! Ran Finnegan For Exhibition Only in FAST. This means I can bring a toy into the ring with me and train what we need DURING the trial. We need speed and confidence.
Check out Finnegan's weaves! He CAN run fast. WTG, Fin.
Finnegan 10 tricks in a row.
Here is Finnegan demonstrating 10 behaviors, one right after another, using different cues to perform each behavior. To Finnegan, they are just tricks and games.
Over the next month, this chain of behaviors will get even smoother.

USDAA@HOME Steeplechase Finnegan
I haven't been ready to attend agility trials quite yet due to covid. But, some organizations are providing their competitors away to compete, and stay in shape as a team with their dogs. USDAA (United States Dog Agility Association) is one of those organiztions.
I entered my boys in their Fall Festival: Grand Prix, Steeplechase, and Biathlon. I have completed the courses for Grand Prix and Steeplechase. It was wonderful to step to the line with my boys, my partners, my teammates.
