Errol took a break in the shade this afternoon. He was hard at work , rotating toys from the yard to the porch. And back. So helpful.
Despite his shyness at adoption events, Errol is an outgoing playful pup, he loves to chill on the couch and get his belly rubbed. Or at your feet, getting belly rubs. Or anywhere getting belly rubs.
He's still working on the leash thing, but has all the normal puppy stuff down.
Errol is in search of a family inclined to rub bellies, hopefully with a playful dog to conspire with.

Andre is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. He’s a big fan of toys and bones — happy to play with friends or entertain himself like the independent little guy he is. His crate is his happy place, where he loves to curl up for a midday snooze or take a quiet break.

While he can be timid with new things, Andre is an expert at sofa snuggles and will happily keep you company if there’s an open lap nearby. Truly, there isn’t an aggressive hair on this boy — just kindness through and through.

Andre is looking for someone to help build his confidence and show him the world isn’t so scary. He’d be the perfect match for a homebody or someone working from home (bonus: he’s wonderfully quiet, so no surprise barking during Zoom meetings!). Andre is looking for that gentle forever home; he is neutered, up to date on shots, on preventatives and microchipped.

Meet Skye — a beautiful, bright-eyed Aussie Spaniel mix who’s just under a year old and desperately in need of stability. At only 9 months old, Skye has already been adopted and returned *three times*—not because of anything she’s done wrong, but because her people underestimated what it takes to care for a high-energy working breed.

Skye is not a couch potato. She’s an intelligent, active, and sensitive girl who needs structure, patience, and purpose. She’s been bounced from home to home, and it’s taken a toll. What she needs now is someone who truly understands her breed, her needs, and her heart.

Here’s what Skye is looking for:

✔️ A person who understands high-energy dogs (Aussie folks, we’re looking at you)

These 2 small boys were dumped out towards Porter. Not puppies, maybe 6 months old, and 15 lbs, they need fosters to see them through vetting and help teach them house manners. Unsure on potty training and leash training, but are fine with the cats at the finders place. And his big dog.

Brawnie is a work in progress. At nearly 6 months old, he is good sized boy with a sweet disposition.
He is pretty shy, is scared of loud noises. If all the other dogs bark, he will head for the hills.
He is crate trained, and enjoys spending time in there even when he doesn't have to. He loves toys, which he takes to his crate. All of them.
Sometimes he destroys them. Because he's a puppy 😉
His other hobbies include laying on the sofa and watching tv, and only going outside for his foster dad.

Long story. But it's his story.

Once upon a time, 3 dachshund mix puppies came to Legacy of Hope. They had been tossed off a bridge.
One of them, later named Sully, was injured. His jaw was dislocated and he was in pain.
He was treated, and he went on to be adopted into a loving family. For 4 years he lived the dream. A family, home. Friends.
Then he jumped off the bed and injured his back.
Now named Mike, he was diagnosed with IVDD. Intervertebral Disc Disease. IVDD is when these discs deteriorate (calcify/harden), wherein they become susceptible to bulging or bursting - especially with hard impacts (jumping off a couch, steps, rough play, etc).
The cost of surgery is exorbitant, and the time frame for it is minimal. With no guarantee of success.
Mike's family did all they could to avoid returning him. They love him. He is family.
But the home ,yard and work schedule made it impossible .
Mike is in his original foster home, Tammy is taking great care of him. Dr. Martin has been doing acupuncture on him a few times a week. He has his chair and his drag bag. And he is available for adoption.
Bear in mind that he is not a novelty, probably not for a first time handicapped pet owner. He needs a home with people who will take care of all his needs, medical or otherwise. He is a loving boy, good with kids and dogs

Meet Beasley Ann 🐾 – a 5-month-old American Bulldog/Pointer/Pit mix?? about 45 lbs of playful puppy personality!

She’s crate trained, 99% Potty Trained with a doggy door, Leash Trained, and smart—learning new things every week. Beasley loves playing with her foster siblings, splashing at the lake, digging in the dirt (she does enjoy getting muddy 🐾), snuggling on the couch, and chewing on all the bones she can find since she’s a big chewer right now.

Her quirks? She likes to sit on other dogs 🐶💺 and may try to steal your food if you look away too long. She’s also learning boundaries with the other dogs in her foster home, picking up good manners as she grows.

Beasley is great with kids, cats, and dogs, and would thrive in a home with another playful dog (or dogs) who can keep up with her zoomies and boost her confidence. She’s goofy and outgoing at home, a little shy in new places, but with gentle socialization she’s getting braver every day.

👴🐾 Meet Jake — our gentle old soul with a smile that melts hearts and a tail that still thumps with joy. 💛

Jake came into our lives as a wide-eyed puppy over 9 years ago, growing up wrapped in love and surrounded by family. He was cherished, adored, and never knew a moment without care. But life can change in unexpected ways, and with heavy hearts, his dad made the painful decision to return Jake to us—not out of neglect, but out of deep love and difficult circumstances.

Now in a safe and loving foster home, Jake is taking things slow, adjusting to all the change. But what he really needs is a forever family who sees the magic in his greying face and knows the value of a loyal heart.

Walter.
He must think he went to the dentist instead of Petsmart. We got multiple angles of his teeth. But not in a bad way, unless you're trying to take pictures.
Walter is a great dog, but he isn't a fan of young kids. Teens, sure. But younger ones terrify him, and he does not like them.
He is good with dogs, but his passion is people. He wants to be there. Where they are.

We got a heartbreaking call about a litter of puppies abandoned in a rural area… and when we saw them, our hearts shattered. 💔

Skinny. Weak. Covered in skin issues. Hungry beyond words. These tiny babies have been through more than any puppy should.

They are now safe at our vet clinic, where they’ll start the long road to recovery—full bellies, warm beds, and the medical care they so desperately need. But boarding, vet care, medications, and (lots of) puppy groceries add up fast.
