!!!!!!UPDATE ON CEDAR!!!!!!

His owner took Cedar to Caspers State Park with her friend and horse. Cedar felt right at home. He's a good boy! Had his feet trimmed yesterday. He has great feet. On June 3 rd they are trailering to Cuyamaca which is in the San Diego mountains. She will camp there for a week. All horses at camp have their own pipe stalls. She will send an update and pictures later from there. Everyone loves Cedar!!!!

It was the hardest decision for me but the most amazing and incredible decision to leave him with the best lady that could have ever come into his life. I knew from the first time meeting this lady she would be the best thing that ended up in this horses life!! After meeting her and all of the community and friends around her all of my nervous thoughts left and were left with extremely happy and calm thoughts!

One big step in my life was going into the big leagues of training an older wild mustang in a mustang Challenge. This horse was the best thing that ever walked into my life, and now is giving another wonderful and amazing family the same feeling. I know my heart will have a huge hole in it from missing all the little nickers to all of the try this horse had. There is no doubt in my mind that you will be loved and cared for. ♥️ you forever and always!!!!!

The biggest accomplishment that we accomplished this weekend was that I sorted out one cow with a specific number from a herd of cows all by ourselves. We managed to do this without letting the cows loose across the white line.

Yesturday I got to show Athos in the showmanship at the southern Utah wild horse and b***o festival. He did amazing for me. We placed second in his open showmanship against my dad and six others. Then we came back for the reserve and champion class and came home with the win!! I’m so proud off how far this little pony has come!!!

I just couldn’t resist sharing this video. Every time I go to grab him out of the trailer he nickers at me, and I talk back. Sometimes I almost feel like him and I are talking having a conversation together. It is the cutest thing any of my mustangs have every done!! T- 8 days left till mania😢!

I think Athos is trying to tell me that he wants to be a reining horse when he grows up. I may have to put some sliders on him before the show!! What an amazing and talented little horse he has become. I put my size 8 cowboy boot in the picture to use for reference.

Here is a short video of Athos chillin at my first Utah quater horse show of the year! There were at least 200+ people and horses there who’s disciplines ranged from western pleasure to barrel racing and from English to driving. He did really well and aloud me to ride him all over at the show! Their were dogs, golf carts, children, and scooters all over the fairgrounds for him to see. He had no care in the world about them. He also got to show some of his tricks to the people around him. He got so many complements from the big time trainers and even from the show secretary.

Off to my first Utah quarter horse show of the year! Westley and Boomer (my show horse) and also in the picture!

Today I had one of my talented friends climb aboard this fine stead and take him for his first ride. As you can probably guess what his reactions where. Slowly walk off like a broke ol pony who has thousands of miles put on him. The only time he ever did anything was when we asked him to trot off the very first time he squirted forward a few steps then just mellowed. I’m so thankful and glad to have meet this amazing and talented little horse, oh and rider😉!

I decided to put Athos, a three year old mustang gelding, in with boomer, a three year old quarter horse gelding. This is there first introduction to each other. Seemed to go well.

I decided to throw Athos in the round pen while I cleaned his stall. He has been shedding a lot lately so to be able to scratch in the deep soft dirt was a dream come true. I heard him bucking and playing before this video so I decide to leave my phone on the side to get video. Next time I put him in the round pen again I will video to get a full bounding experience.

Update Time!!! Things Athos and I have been working on: •picking up all 4 feet •lunging/sending both directions •forehand turns both ways •desensitizing •saddling •loading in a trailer •baths •Desensitizing to dogs •meeting new people I think this horse is about to be my new favorite mustang!
