We have had a few cases of mycotoxin poisoning recently. Its not a poisoning that folks are generally familiar with, so we thought we'd share the information to raise awareness.-

Ingestion of mouldy food from the bin or a compost pile puts dogs, cats, horses, livestock, and even wildlife at risk for toxicity due to tremorgenic mycotoxins. These toxins may be found in MOULDY bread, pasta, cheese, nuts, or other decaying matter like compost. Clinical signs include vomiting, agitation, incoordination, tremors, seizures, and elevated body temperature. A specific mycotoxin called aflatoxin can even cause liver failure. Be sure to keep mouldy food and compost out of your pets reach!

See this picture? It's an Australian Shepherd HERDING the sheep. See the nip? The push with her teeth/muzzle? She's HERDING, not biting! Some Aussies, especially young ones, may do this to their human - and be tossed out of the house for "biting my kid". The Aussie was herding your kid, slowing the kid down from running thru the house, turning the kid toward a different direction, etc...
So many Aussie end up in shelters because humans misunderstood the breed and, instead of teaching the dog appropriate herding behavior, their natural instinct, they toss the dog out of the house.
Make sure you understand what a bite is and isn't. 9 out of 10 times it was inappropriate herding and easily changed.

💥Raven is home safe!💥
There was only one sighting last night but Raven was afraid and ran from her owner Alex. CTDGRV Sharon and Alex stayed out until 11:00 pm but never saw her again. This morning Alex got a call with a sighting! She saw her a couple more times today and finally on the last time Alex was walking down the trail and just talking in a normal voice like she does when she takes her for walks, and Raven stopped, her ears perked up and her tail started to wag, and she ran right to her!!! Alex did an awesome job staying calm and followed all of CTDGRV Sharon’s advice perfectly!
Thank you to Alex and her family, to John who called in the sighting and stayed to help and to CTDGRV Sharon.
Welcome home Raven! ❤️
Missing in Mansfield!
This pretty girl got spooked while on a walk today. She is very scared and will run away from everyone. If seen do not attempt to try to get her. Call the number on the flyer immediately. The owner is there and will be able to respond.

Tick paralysis is a condition caused by a neurotoxin excreted by a feeding tick. Fortunately, it resolves quickly with removal of the tick.
