For years, Mark Goralski, of Chicago, IL, battled Crohn's disease and kidney failure. He underwent a kidney transplant in 2011 but in time, his issues recurred. Mark passed away in September, 2018, leaving his family in grief.

To honor their dad, Mark's two daughters, Bethany, 25, and Hannah, 24, decided to donate their kidneys to strangers.
" hope he would be really proud," Bethany told GMA. "We just wanted to make sure two less families had to go through what we went through.

A month after their father's passing, Hannah addressed Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. The two sisters had surgeries one day apart in March 2019. Hannah hopes her family's story would encourage other young people to become living organ donors.
