Speak to Your Dog
Dogs are gifted when it comes to comprehending the complex utterance of humans.
Scientist used images of the brains of dogs that were trained to lie still in an MRI scanner. These studies show that hearing a positive-sounding voice triggered one region of the dogs’ brains, while an entirely separate part of the brain was activated when words of praise of “good boy” were spoken in any tone. The results suggested that both the words we say and how we say them matter to dogs.
I believe this important study is one of several that have focused upon how dogs understand us through language. It’s truly remarkable what we have learned! Both dogs and people benefit from our kind words and tonality, sharing in strengthening our bond, and the release of oxytocin, the love hormone. Choose your words carefully your dog is listening.

My heartfelt goal is to share the incredible fortune that’s been bestowed to me. The Quality of the Learning Will Reflect in the Quality of The Connection!
Having a true understanding about the nature of the dog and what’s really important to them (it’s the relationship with you!) will also support any education efforts as well as the overall quality of your relationship. Dogs need a sense of safety based upon a trusting relationship. Kindness and a calm inner state will communicate to your dog that everything is just fine. Now you’re coming from a position where your dog and you can focus. Keep in mind that fear and tension contract and relaxation and calmness expand the capacity to learn. Have learning be like play, which you experience together. Be patient and aware as to how your dog is enjoying the lesson and keep it fun and light. Dogs are hardwired to please us, and new research has shown that dogs have a much greater capacity to learn than we ever thought possible before. Greater insights into the heart and mind of the dog provides us with more ways to connect and appreciate dog’s unique abilities to love us.

Our voice has power, information and meaning to a dog. The inflection and tonality convey to our dog’s important additional information about the intention of the words used.
