😢 Unfortunately as of 1-11-24 we will no longer be taking in any more owner surrenders at all and in the future concentrate on those with special needs. We simply do not have the funding or room. We have several here looking for forever homes. Adoptions, donations and sponsorships are at an all time low. Not only us but all rescues are hurting. We have posted several needing sponsors and no one responds. Sponsors start at $10 a month. That 1 1/2 cups of a fancy coffee. We can’t get that. We have a lot of animals here and currently only 6 are sponsored. With the awful economy several dropped their sponsorships over the past year. Infact one today as well. We do totally understand that. We are a 501c3 so donations are a tax deduction for you. Being a nonprofit we rely heavily on sponsorships and donations. We will be taking in the 4 we agreed to take in before Jack got sick but will be putting a halt on ALL intakes until we can get some sweet babies new homes and get sponsors for some more pigs that require monthly therapy and medication. Adopting those we feel would make good forever pets would make more room for others to come in. If you are interested in adopting a pig please let us know and we will get you an application. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities please reach out. We can’t do what we do without the sponsorship or donations. So until then we are closing all intakes until further notice. Another way to help is participating in our raffles and auctions. We appreciate our supporters so much. Right now we need to concentrate on getting sponsors set up and adopting out some so that we can make room for more special needs animals that need our help. We like to be open and honest about everything going on here and we feel this is important to share.

Dr. Vaughn has been certified an official “Santa’s E.L.V.E.S.” (Emergency Landing and Veterinary Expert System) location.

In the event that Santa’s reindeer team needs to make an unscheduled Christmas Eve stop for sled repairs, refueling, or veterinary care, staff at this clinic will be available to provide needed assistance and ensure a safe and on-time delivery of Santa’s cargo.

I know the majority of people are aware of the unknown canine respiratory virus spreading across the country, but here are my two cents on it.

This is a bad respiratory infection, it can take weeks to treat. I first started seeing these mystery coughing cases in mid August, and then gradually saw cases increase throughout the fall. Thankfully, I’ve been able to successfully treat each case, with very compliant and dedicated owners. However, I’d like to reduce the number of cases I see by educating owners on how to avoid it.

1. Avoid high dog traffic areas (boarding, dog parks, pet stores, breweries, etc).
2. I am encouraging owners to elect for in home dog sitters as alternative to holiday boarding.
3. Lastly, Make sure your pet is up to date on all vaccines and wellness exams. This way if your pet does become ill you have an active relationship with your veterinarian.

There are some preliminary studies that are showing what medications are effective in treating this. Thankfully these are part of the protocol I’ve been using to treat it.

I’m committed to learning more about this disease and will keep you posted as I continue to learn more.

Please keep your furry family members healthy and safe this holiday season 🐾

🐾To all my wonderful Customers:

Unfortunately, I have been hospitalized for a few days, and not sure how much longer I'll be here. I will be out of commission for a bit, just not sure how long. I apologize to everyone for having to reschedule, and if I've missed a call and or messages I truly apologize. As soon as I know when I'll be back to work, I will let everyone know. Thank you all for being so understanding and if ya'll could pray for my fast recovery, I would absolutely appreciate it. 🐾
