Went to our new ALDI yesterday and was waiting in the checkout while my feral 8 yr old twins were acting like they have never been to a grocery store in their life!! Completely disastrous... the sweet older gentleman in line in front of me asked if they were my children and I hesitated to admit it but he told me I was doing a great job with them ❤️
I noticed he had lots of banana pepper jars and jalapeños and some syrup and sugar in his cart and that was about it.. I asked him what he was making with all that.. he told me he lost his wife last year and has taken up making salsa. Said he makes about 1k jars a summer and was stocking up on supplies since ALDI had the best prices.. he checks the shopper regularly.. he said the neighbors from all around bring him tomatoes as he can’t keep up a garden anymore.. said he also told me he “ dabbles” in jams!! I told him he should get a stand at the farmers market. He told me he does it just for the joy of it.. keeps him busy and enjoys it. ** doesn’t sell it**
I thought about the roses and flowers everyone has been giving out but I could hardly wrangle my children out of the store..
I walked out to my car and he was parked next close by and called me over. I thought he needed a hand with his groceries but nope! He said I have something for you.. and guess what it was a jar of home made salsa!! I can’t tell you the last time I was gifted something so special! He also told me where I could find him and get more this summer and to bring the kids 💗
I thanked him and shook his hand.. This encounter meant so much to me.. I just lost my beloved grandfather in Feb..
I was fighting back tears when I left and as he pulled out of the car park I saw a Korean Vet Sticker on his car.. A true hero 🇱🇷

Our lives are not like GPAs with all of our decisions being averaged together. Because of the Savior we can learn from our mistakes without being eternally attached to them. You are human and humans make mistakes. Apologize sincerely & restore all you can, but then you have to move on. When you bury your sins deep in the earth, you can’t spend the rest of your life standing at the site thinking what you used to be and what you used to do. You have to leave them buried and go on to live life to its fullest.

Obedience has long been the goal of parenting, but I challenge this belief. Obedience can bring more harm than good. Our goal as a parent is to help our children grow and develop their own values, beliefs and convictions. We want them to grow to be independent adults who will make right decisions and not blindly follow. We therefore can’t enforce obedience, we have to develop cooperation.

A University of Michigan study has concluded that it is impossible to mine enough copper to meet the push for EV transition. Not only can't it meet the copper needed for the vehicles themselves, but the power grid would be lacking as well.

"A normal Honda Accord needs about 40 pounds of copper. The same battery electric Honda Accord needs almost 200 pounds of copper. Onshore wind turbines require about 10 tons of copper, and in offshore wind turbines, that amount can more than double," said Adam Simon, U-M professor of earth and environmental studies.

"We show in the paper that the amount of copper needed is essentially impossible for mining companies to produce."

The study found that between 2018 and 2050, the world will need to mine 115% more copper than has been mined in ALL of human history up until 2018 just to meet "business as usual" needs. This would meet the US's current copper needs as well as supporting the developing world without considering the green energy transition. And that is simply impossible.

So as predicted by myself and others, "ain't no way". The push for the move from internal combustion engines to EV's is not simply unrealistic given the stage of technology, but impossible based on actual material needs. And copper is only ONE material which is being shown to be lacking; there are others.

But there it is.
