Teaching Zelda the Heads-Up Heel!

One of the key things we’re working on with Zelda is teaching her to walk with her head up, which plays a crucial role in her understanding a proper heads-up heel. This engagement helps her stay focused, in tune with her handler, and ultimately leads to a more precise and controlled walk.

What makes this even more exciting? We’re doing it without using a food lure! Instead of constantly guiding her with treats, we’re rewarding her when she makes the choice to keep her head up on her own. This builds real understanding and engagement rather than dependence on a lure!

🚨 Client Update 🚨

Today, we received a call from a concerned client whose dogs got into a really bad fight. While their training wasn’t scheduled to start until mid-March, we understand that life happens, and sometimes, issues need immediate attention. 💡

At K9 Remedy, we’re always willing to make exceptions if possible and do whatever we can to help our clients achieve the best possible results. That’s why we’re starting some training a bit sooner to address these problematic behaviors and get ahead of the issue before it escalates further. 🐾

Also, a quick shoutout to Alice, who is already doing AMAZING on our very first walk together! She’s respecting the leash so well, and we’re off to a great start. ❤️

We believe in supporting our clients every step of the way because their success is our success. Let’s work together to get those dogs back on track and build a stronger, healthier relationship.

Zelda has been working hard on her leash manners and learning to sit on command, and we couldn’t be more proud of her progress! Today’s adventure took us to Home Depot, where she practiced staying focused amidst all the hustle and bustle. With some treats and patience, Zelda nailed her sits even in the most distracting environments. 🐾✨ Training in public spaces like Home Depot is such a great way to help her stay calm and composed in new environments.
