Last weekend I had the pleasure of teaching a versatility clinic at A Bit of Horse Heaven in Manchester. It was great to see so many familiar faces in both people and horses. I asked everyone at the beginning what they thought the hardest obstacle would be and not only did they all accomplish their pick, all of the horse and rider pairs did ALL of the obstacles by the end of the day. 💪🏼

Mini Smooth Cats
2013 mare
Ride her now, breed her later!
This mare is special. She has limited NCHA show time but, when she showed she won a little $. She is the daughter of Smoother Than A Cat earner of +$100,000, Smoother Than A Cat is son of Smooth As A Cat. Smooth As A Cat is an NCHA Hall of Fame Sire whose offspring have earned more than $36.5 million. Coco is a daughter of Mini CD who is by +$16 million dollar sire CD Olena.

Coco is such a nice mare. She is the kind the whole family can enjoy. She has been used for lessons but, will also cut a cow like a boss. She is quiet and easy to have around. She is easy to catch and gets along with both mares and geldings in the pasture. She has three super smooth gaits and rides around on a loose rein or you can collect her up. She is soft in the mouth and body. In the sorting pen she is quiet and correct. She gives you whatever you ask. If you want her to plod around for a kid to learn she will. If you want her to turn in on for the higher level classes, she is there. She has multiple RSNC titles in sorting, Western Heritage and recently has been helping our friend get into sorting, taking him to the top 10 and money earning spots more times than not. She loads and unloads great. Bathes, ties, crossties, does versatility obstacles, has had the dummy roped off her. She doesn't care about much. Happily goes down the trail alone or with others. She is a gem.

We had 9 great riders Thursday night for our practice. Love seeing everyone improving and most importantly having a great time. We’ve had many barrel racers giving it a try lately and I gotta say, these ladies are going to be some tough competition here soon 💪🏼

Nights like that make the frozen toes, hands and troughs throughout the week worth it 💕 🔥

12 yr old grade mare

This pretty girl tapes at 14hh if not.. a hair under. She is compact and stout, the perfect size for kid or adult. I first met this girl when we lived in Georgia, I purchased her from a family that did trail riding on the weekends and maybe a fun show here and there. I called her "Lady" then. We sold her to a friend of ours that has owned her for the last two years as her kids horse. She has done trails, pony club, small jumps, and a lot of fun pony club things. Many different kids rode her and I was told she was successful at her job. The only reason she is back is because they purchased a step up horse from us. Since being back Georgia has taught a lesson, done some trail rides and rode inside and outside the arena. She seems to like the outdoor better than the indoor but, was behaved in both. I would call her canter green which I attribute to the fact that she has just been walk trotting for the last two years. She is healthy, an easy keeper and gets along with others. If riding on harder ground (like our half frozen outdoor) I would recommend shoes or she has also worn trail boots before. She is sound and other than the shoe recommendation requires no maintenance. She seems to like riding in a snaffle best and respects it well, she has smooth gaits and a laid back demeanor. She has been out of consistent work due to weather and the kids being busy, which her price reflects along with needing some canter work. She ponies well behind other horses and goes through everything we have found out in the trail. She doesn't have any stall habits and loads, unloads, and trailers well. She straight and crossties without an issue. She is learning about softness in the bridle but, isn't 100% in it. She will ride on a loose floppy rein without an issue. Rides English, western and ba****ck. Feel free to send any questions our way. I have attached both the video when we sold her 2 years ago as well as a current video that way you can see it all.

Starting the year strong with 2 round robins in one day! The first one is open to all while the second one we are going to try to keep to novice and beginner sorters. You MAY ride in both if you wish❤️ Deposits required to hold spots.

In 2024 we started doing round robins in June and just finished the season in December. During those months we gave out 💰OVER $10,000 💰and I think that’s pretty darn special! This year we are starting earlier and trying to improve every show!!

We have watched brand new people pick up this sport on a rapid level, experienced riders helping newbies, barrel racers giving it a go and even English horses, which all means our sport is GROWING which is what all of us should aim for. In 2025 we hope to be a place that people feel confident to give it a try for the first time, experienced riders like to come to practice and showcase their skills and for spectators to come see the excitement. Spectating these events is always FREE!!

We are so thankful to all of you for the endless support and encouragement through this learning journey. Hope to see you at the next one! 🐎 🐮

🃏Joker 🃏
This 8 yr old gelding holds a special place in my heart. I first met Joker as a 3 yr old when I purchased him for myself. We had just bought our first house and I didn't have the money for a show horse. I bought Joker to be a fun project and to get me riding again. I worked on a little bit of everything with him including trails, moving cattle, and mostly arena work and softening. Four years ago I was messaged by a friend looking for exactly what he was so she purchased him and has used him for the last four years. He has been ridden by kids, trail rode and entered some fun shows and clinics. When life got too busy she decided it was not fair for him to sit in the pasture. I have been blessed enough to get him back to find him another perfect home. His owner did a phenomenal job in softening him up, exposing him to all sorts of things and still allowing his goofy personality to shine. I would definitely call him the puppy dog type. He is "extra" about everything he does which is why he is a tail swisher, he has been since he was 3. He is in perfect health, Chiro, farrier, etc. He is 100% sound and requires no extra maintenance. When I had him before I had him barefoot but, he is currently wearing 4 shoes. He goes out with mares or geldings, does not test fencing and is easy to catch and handle. He is friendly and personable. He is not herd bound and will go out alone or with others. He will lead or follow on the trail and goes through many obstacles both manmade and natural. He is traffic, dog and as you can see from the video chicken safe. He is very gentle and has carried kids happily with that being said, he is not a dead head, he has some buttons and does react to aids so I would not recommend for a kid that does not understand this or have the instruction to help. He is not spooky, good with cattle, and rides in an indoor or outdoor with others well. He moves off your leg and softens well. I am working on him using his hind end more in his turns etc. He does fine with time off and doesn't require lunging before riding though he does know how so if you wish, he will happily oblige. When I had him I rode him English, western and ba****ck though recently he has primarily been ridden western. He will one hand neck rein or ride two handed. He is respectful and quiet. I had made contact with his breeder and was told that he was a registered quarter horse but, I was never provided the paperwork so he is selling as grade. He stands 14.3hh and is stout as can be. 🎅🏻SANTA SORT WAS A SUCCESS!! 🎅🏻

We hosted two full round robins of 12 in a row and the cows held up great! ❤️

We had some experienced sorters and some that tried it for the first time. We had more spectators than ever and everyone was in the Christmas spirit! 🎄

We paid out $2450 in cash and over $1000 in prizes thanks to our wonderful sponsors! Thank you to all that came out, even had our first out of state sorters! It was a great time and we are so thankful for all of you!

Short daylight and colder temperatures often take us away from activities that warm our hearts. Yesterday we bundled up and ventured out to Rocking LP Ranch for a Round Robin and thoroughly enjoyed the day. During the hustle and bustle of the holidays, choose what fills your heart!

16 inch corriente saddle. Super nice and comfortable. Has some staining that I think would come right out with a wire brush I just haven’t had the chance to try.

Like new flocking. Great condition. I actually really like this saddle and showed in it. Sold the pony I bought it for. Great Christmas present.
