Dogs are naturally curious creatures with keen senses, making them susceptible to a variety of distractions. Here are some common temptations that can pull your dog's attention away from you:

Visual Distractions:
Other dogs: This is a common and often exciting distraction for many dogs.
People: Especially children or those engaging in active behaviors.
Wildlife: Squirrels, birds, and other animals can be irresistible.
Moving objects: Bicycles, skateboards, or cars.
Interesting sights: Construction sites, shops, or anything unusual.

Auditory Distractions:
Loud noises: Traffic, sirens, fireworks, or even loud conversations.
Familiar sounds: The sound of food being prepared, toys being played with, or other household noises.

Olfactory Distractions:
Strong scents: Garbage, food, or other animals' scent markers.
Interesting smells: Flowers, plants, or other environmental odors.

Physical Distractions:

Don't let the loud noises turn your pup into a scaredy-cat (or, should we say, scaredy-DOG?). Dawgz & Stripes is here to help!

Here are some pawsome tips for a stress-free 4th of July:

Find a quiet spot: Let your pup be the party animal...at a safe distance from the fireworks!
Distraction is key: Engage your pup with fun games, yummy treats, or calming music to drown out the booms.
Crate escape? Not today! Make sure your pup's crate is a cozy haven with familiar bedding and a special chew toy.
Cuddle puddle power! Sometimes, the best comfort is a good ol' fashioned snuggle with their favorite human (that's you!).

Turn your pup's crate into their personal pawsome palace!

Crate training isn't about keeping them contained, it's about giving them a cozy sanctuary to call their own. Imagine it - a safe haven within your home, where they can relax and feel secure.

For humans it's sometimes hard to understand the need for the dog to have their own space. We have to keep in mind that dogs are den animals and they need their personal space to relax and decompress from stress.

Plus - crate training makes potty training a breeze and helps curb unwanted chewing when you're not around. Structural training is an amazing tool to achieve the goals that you want out of your puppy.

Our customer Bonnie wanted to make the process of crate adjustment for her pup easier so she willingly entered the crate to show her pup Zena that she has nothing to be afraid of.
