Someone else is enjoying that the Crepe myrtle trees are blooming now as well. But I think it’s for a different reason!

It’s that kinda day in Florida
It’s just that kinda day today. Cold and wet. I think these little guys have the right idea on how to spend it.
Must have been the weather change today, because this guy was a Velcro bird today as well.
Must have been the weather change upsetting the birds today, because this guy was a Velcro bird today as well.
The birds are in the new habitat and seem happy!! We have some parakeets, some cockatiels, a Quaker, and a conure in here with lots of feeding and watering stations!!
Our new small bird aviary is almost complete and ready for birds!! The parakeets and other little guys will be happy to finally have a place to call home where they can fly around!!!

Dorian and Pretty Boy’s outdoor aviary in the making.
This is Dorian and Pretty Boy’s soon to be outdoor aviary. Still needs a lot of work, but you can start to see it forming!! We need to lift it, put wire on the roof and floor, put a metal roof over the entire habitat, then the fun part. Adding the perches, houses, and can’t forget the toys!!!
Pretty Boy
Pretty Boy, a 19 year old umbrella cockatoo, became the newest member of the sanctuary family. His original owner had him since he was 6 months old, but unfortunately had to move to Florida and get a smaller house, and while he is very beautiful, he is also a very noisy boy! We started assembling his and Dorian’s (the 40 year old African grey) outside habitat. Since they have both lived their entire lives as inside birds, they will still have their cages inside for them when the temperatures is to hot/cold.
Sugar gliders munching on their apple slice this evening.
Chewbacca, our African Wildcat decided to run a 105.6 fever today, so he got himself a round trip ticket to the vet. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon so he can start to feel better!!
We have some very appreciative cats this week thanks to a group of old friends and new friends that came out over the weekend and fixed the lining on their cat wheel!!
Everyone is doing great!! We were able to put all the animals back in their habitats and they seem to be enjoying their freedom again!!
I think my sheep understood “hunker down during Ian” pretty well 😂
Used billboard signs made wonderful pond liners Incase anyone needs to make a pond. 😃😃
Incase anyone ever wondered how a macaw eats a grape 😁😉
These guys have not been coming out of the house during the day, so I decided to put a camera up to see what they were doing during the night. Sometimes watching these animals is better than anything on TV 😂😂
We had some critters arrive at our sanctuary last week, and we have not been seeing the out much of them during the day. Today I decided to put up a camera in their habitat, and was surprised to see this guy hanging off the fence by the door. Glad we secured the wire to the roof well and secured the door really well!!!
Snack time for the squirrels and Guinea pigs!! The one squirrel thinks she needs all the attention however 😂
