Guess who gets to go back to work?! THIS GIRL!!! 😌
I am pleased to announce that I am cleared to go back to my regularly scheduled activities! With that being said, here's a bit of housekeeping!
• I will be back in the shop Monday morning with close to normal shop hours! I will still have to take it somewhat easy and continue physically therapy. I am going to tackle as much as I can at the pace my hands will let me go. This has been a long process and I don't want to do any more damage by trying to rush or do to much to fast.
• I would also kindly ask to not be bombarded with the "when is my mount going to be done" line of questioning!! I promise, if you have a piece in my shop, it's going to be completed in the order of drop off from where I left off before surgery. I will contact you when your mount is being worked on!
• For those that have asked, yes, I am taking new customers/projects! My completion timeline is a little bit further out than normal, but I will do my best to get caught up! If you have something you would like to bring to me, give me a call and we can set something up!
• Lastly, thank you all for your continued patience and prayers! I would not be where I am today without the love and support from my friends, family, and customers! You guys are wonderful!

I had the stitches removed from my left hand today! The surgeon says I'm recovering very well! I will continue physical therapy for the next four weeks and have a (hopefully) final check up to be released back to work! Thank you all for being patient with me during this process! I cannot wait to be healed up and get back in the swing of things! ❤️

Surgery on my left carpal tunnel was a success! I am at home resting. I did have a small bump in the road with the incision on my right hand as it opened slightly a few days ago, but I was able to get that handled with my surgeon and we are back on track. Thank you again for the love and support. I will keep you guys posted on my recovery and will be back in the shop as soon as possible. ❤️

Hand Update: Firstly I'd like to say thank you for all the prayers and support! I just got back home from my first post-op appt with my surgeon. I had the stitches removed and the incision looks great! The surgeon said I am healing very well and have a good range of motion for where I am at post-op! I have one week left of not lifting anything over 10 pounds and I am able to start physical therapy! I am also cleared to have my second surgery on my non dominant hand. This surgery will take place this coming Wednesday and should have the same recovery time! The surgeon said in 4-6 weeks I'll be back and better than ever! I cannot wait to get back in the shop and get back to work! Thank you again to all of my friends, family, and wonderful customers for being so patient and supportive! It really means a lot to me! ❤️🦌✨

Surgery was a success! I am at home resting with a belly full of food and some good pain meds. Still a little loopy and very numb but I am optimistic about my outcome! My surgeon said there was a good release when he opened my carpal tunnel! I'll keep everyone updated on my recovery. Thank you for all the kind words and prayers ❤️‍🩹

It's been a hell of a weekend at the Texas Taxidermy Association Convention and Championships! There are countless hours of blood, sweat, and tears put into the pieces at this competition and I am honored to have not only been able to attend but place well in the professionals division this year! To say the jump from amateur to professional was humbling is an understatement... but that is exactly what these competitions are for! You put in your best effort and gain knowledge from your judges critiques as well as the wonderful seminars put on throughout the show. This industry is one like no other, the camaraderie and talent are unmatched and I feel so blessed to be a part of it! Thank you to all the wonderful judges and the Texas Taxidermy Association for putting on such a wonderful convention!

Incase y'all were wondering.., monsters ARE real! I finally got this piece to my friend Ryan, the owner of Rogue Rhino Studios! He commissioned me to make a super gnarly monster for his shop and I happily obliged! It's not often I get to think this outside of the box at work. This monster was created with a whitetail deer skull and sheds as well as miscellaneous small mammal teeth... and a whole lot of expoy sculpt! I'm glad to see it leave my shop and head to his! If you need any tattoo or piercing work, give Ryan a shout!

I have 19 days until my carpal tunnel surgery and will not be taking in any new projects until I am fully healed! All current client projects have come to a halt due to pain and inability to work comfortably. I pushed myself probably father than I should have trying to get as much done as I could before this surgery. I promise I have not forgotten about anyone, nor will I. My full intention is to have this surgery, take the time to heal properly and get back to work in full force! My last hoorah before surgery will be the Texas Taxidermy Association Convention and Competition in two weeks in which my mounts have already been completed. I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused, but I can assure every single one of my customers you will be far more pleased with a finished project from a taxidermist who can work to their full potential than one who is struggling to get by. Thank you for your understanding!
