Meet Gizmo -- he is looking for a rescue or adopter ASAP! He has been in boarding at a local vet since December, when his heartbroken owner had to give him up due to landlord issues. He does not do well in a kennel, and really needs to get into a home environment ASAP.

PLEASE SHARE GIZMO FAR & WIDE!

Gizmo is a 5-year-old neutered dachshund mix. He is a very sweet boy once you earn his trust. He is nervous with new people but will warm up to someone that is willing to take the time to work with him. He has some resource guarding and leash reactivity, as well as some skin issues, that should be continued to be worked on in his new home. Positive reinforcement is the way to win him over, he is very food motivated and willing to learn! Because boarding has been so stressful for him, it's hard to assess how he would be with other animals so he would definitely need a meet and greet if he wouldn't be the only pet. He really needs a stable, adult-only forever home ASAP.

Update on Ham! He is thriving his new home, doing zoomies, enjoying walks and giving lots of love and getting it back! Did we tell you he sleeps with mom and dad in the big bed.. lucky guy! They all feel lucky and blessed. ❤️

UPDATE! Ham had 15 teeth removed, he is home resting comfortably. Thanks again for all your support. Ham had a meet and greet on Thursday after Christmas, wish him well.

Meet Ham, a lovable canine companion searching for his perfect forever home. Ham is an 8 year old male dachshund mix. While he enjoys the company of his littermate on occasion, he might benefit from a home where he can shine on his own. Ham can be a bit uncertain around certain men entering or leaving his space, so understanding and patient owners can help him feel more secure. He is up to date on his vaccines and is heartworm negative. While he hasn't quite mastered crate training and has had a few accidents indoors, with a little guidance, he'll learn the ropes. Ham might not be the best on a leash and may get nervous around vehicles during walks, but with love and support, he can overcome these fears and become a loyal and loving companion. Seamus is a 20 pound Aussie mix. He is fully vetted and his vet is available to talk with potential adopters. Seamus is just three years old having been adopted by Catherine as a puppy. Until Covid hit, Seamus attended doggie daycare and was groomed regularly. He enjoys the company of other smaller dogs and spent a lot of time with neighbors on his street especially those with dog friends. Seamus was to go to agility training and then everything came crashing down. His mom caught Covid and began to work from home. While her initial bout with Covid was light, it returned months later. Seamus knows all of his commands. He loves to play ball or ride in the car. Right now most of his exercise is walking on a leash. He is crate trained and fine alone in the house. He has been friends with lots of other dogs but has not had direct exposure to cats. Being at least part herding dog, Seamus needs to be kept busy. During Covid he has primarily just been with Catherine and has become protective of her. She has been taken from the house to the hospital twice and Seamus has started growling at the EMTs. A few weeks ago he nipped the neighbor who bent down by Catherine to put his harness on him. Just this last weekend he spent time with the same neighbor and her grandchildren - all was fine. Seamus is not an aggressive dog but for his sake he needs to be in a more active home where his age and herding tendencies will be a positive rather than a negative.

Bella can fly! 😂

Bella is a 6 year old chihuahua mix. She weighs 9 lbs. This little girl is the sweetest little girl with lots of love to give to someone. Bella will climb up your chest, put her arms around your neck and kiss you and then lay her head on your chest and go to sleep. She loves being held like a baby. If you are looking for a little baby she is for you! Bella lost her human and was put in a shelter which devastated her, she wasn't doing well in the shelter environment. She did come in with another dog but was separated. Her whole world has been turned upside down, losing everything she knew and loved. While in rescue, Bella would definitely do better by herself with no other dogs, she wants to be the one and only. We want Bella to be the only dog so she can have all the love and attention. Bella can jump very high, is she is very agile and athletic, she also loves hiking. She would do well with a couple, no dogs and no small children. She loves to run around the fenced in yard full force, so a fenced in yard is a must! She is very funny. She does follow you around, wont let you out of her sight, she is a velcro pup. She also likes to sleep in the big bed with you, that's very important to her. She needs to be close to you all the time. She is a great dog and will be a great companion to someone. Definitely not for an older person, must be steady on your feet. Being a Chihuahua she is a barker so no apartments or condos please.

Bella went on an hour and a half long hike yesterday with 2 Golden Doodles. She was the perfect Angel and a great hiker.
I think this sweater makes me look like I’ve lost my curve.

Bella was rescued today from euthanasia, we got a call she was on her way in the van to the vet, we said yes. We couldn’t let that happen to this sweet girl. Unfortunately she lost her owner, she came in to the shelter with another dog and they were separated. Everything she knew is gone, leaving her whole world
turned upside down. She was not doing well in the shelter at all. Bella is 6 years old, is a little anxious, to be expected, but has settled down and is resting. She is good with other dogs and is potty trained. She will be a great companion to the right person. She is very affectionate, needs lots of love. ❤️

Meet Blue, he is a male 10 year old Chihuahua. Blue does not like his feet, belly touched and also doesn’t like being picked up by his arm pits. He would do best in a home with children 10 years and up and NO DOGS, he is petrified of other dogs, he may do okay with cats. Rey is still hoping and praying for a forever home for Christmas 🎄Rey is a 2 year old 21lb female short hair Dachshund mix. She is a high energy and very intelligent dog that is very treat driven and attention seeking. She has a strong alpha/dominant personality and will need a confident and assertive owner that understand the behavior challenges of this breed. Rey exhibits aggressive behaviors (growling, showing teeth, and snapping) when she no longer wants affection, is disturbed while sleeping, or if she is guarding a toy or couch. She also does not like her nails to be trimmed, but enjoys taking a bath. Because of the randomness of her aggression she would be best in a home with experienced adults (no children) and the only pet.
Rey can be very sweet and affectionate when home alone with calm adults. But due to our home having young children and a middle-aged pug, her behaviors just aren’t a good fit for her situation. You must have experience with this behavior. We think Rey is stressed, needs a home to fit her.
