The Trusted Companion Dog Training I've had dogs growing up my entire life, but in February 2011 I rescued my first dog in my adult life from the local SPCA. Let’s get started!

My name is Brant Weller and I've had years of dog training experience rehabilitating anxiety and aggression, training amazing obedience as well as tracking and scentwork which has led me to starting The Trusted Companion. He is an 80 lb pitbull-lab mix I named Reginald or, affectionately, Reggie. A few months later, I adopted Reggie's new boxer-mix brother, Manny. I loved these guys very much, but

I loved them in the wrong way and fostered an anxiety in them which would soon turn into aggression. They were so happy and loved playing with each other and with other dogs, but unaware of what I was doing, I created the anxiety and a severe aggression in them towards other dogs. This put many other dogs in the vet as well as Reg and Manny in the vet numerous times. They were my family, though, and I had to help them. This became my focus for the next several years. Through the process, I became a professional trainer for a large company, traveled the country learning from some of the best trainers in the business, and began The Trusted Companion. I have successfully rehabilitated my dogs. They are living out the rest of their years happy and confident. They no longer feel the need to attack each other or other dogs. I've since introduced a Samoyed into our pack and not only does everyone get along fine, they are relaxed and confident around the hundreds of new trainees that have come through my doors. I made it my goal to be good at rehabilitating anxiety and aggression in dogs because I had to help my dogs. Along the way, I learned how to help many others and to improve confidence in dogs through teaching them a new relationship with their owners, how to let go of the things that cause them so much worry, and how to engage and refine their primary sense of smell. In my years as a trainer, I have trained hundreds of breeds and am confident I can help your dog relax and become more confident with you and with their environment! “We are very impressed with his skills that he’s gained while he’s been here and his ability to follow our commands and just a great deal of improvement in focus and attention to us. We had a chance to practice all of the play skills and we can really see how that’s going to help get Rocco to be interested in us and be just a very good boy. We enjoyed being able to see the videos and see the progress over the time while he was away at school. We are very excited today for us to come get him. We just had a great session out here learning how to be the best parents to him and get the most out of our relationship with him. ”

“We were having basically problems with every aspect of her behavior. One of the things we really enjoyed about Brant’s training with her was getting the daily video updates. We felt like that helped...train us as well as see the progress she was making over the three weeks. Lena has made significant progress in obedience, and we feel more and more comfortable with her in public settings all the time. ”

Puppy Steps, Big Results!
Training puppies is all about patience and baby steps. Puppies learn best when routines are clear and stress-free. Overloading them with commands or stimulation too quickly can lead to anxiety. Instead, focus on short, positive training sessions that make learning feel like playtime. Remember, little paws can make big leaps with the right guidance! 🐾💖
