Let’s do a little senior spotlight. Meet our sweet senior girl, Xena 🤍 Xena is a 10.5 year old Akita mix. An ideal day for her would be to sit outside and sunbathe ☀️ Xena is very strong on a leash, so she needs someone who can handle that or can do without. She is very dog reactive so she would do best as your one and only 🔒♥️ She isn't much of a cuddler but she does enjoy a good belly rub! Xena would be a great companion for someone who lives simply. You can find Xena at our Main Ranch location. We are open Wednesday-Sunday from 11am-3pm 🐾

The Sandia Chill Concert put on by Canyon Blues and Jazz was a hit! 🎶 Huge thanks to The Canyon Blues and Jazz for putting on such a fun event. Also, a big thank you to all who came out for music and all around good time! We were able to raise over $200 in donations in addition to all proceeds being donated to us! Happy tails!! 🐾♥️🎶

We transferred in 23 dogs today from local shelter partners. 11 of them were these cuties! We anticipate that they’ll be available for adoption next weekend — we have a very big, very special adoption event coming up! Details to come!!!!

Simon, the pug mix with the cutest upturned grin ever, came back from his trial adoption after not being the right fit for the resident cats. So this handsome guy is back on the market and ready to look for love again! He’s two years old, but still very much a wiggly, playful puppy at heart. This adorable tribe of littles are available for adoption today at Going to the Dogs & Cats, our small breed adoption center and retail store inside of Cottonwood Mall. We know it’s a little longer than the average eye-catching internet video, but please watch if you are interested in adopting a small breed dog to see them in action! 😍⚡️ 🐶 The two black puppies are Cisco and Chico. They are sweet, curious 4 month old dachshund mixes who look to humans for comfort and guidance. 🐶 The two tan chihuahuas in pink sweaters are Terra (smaller one, 6 years) and Angel (3 years). They came from a hoarding situation and are the slightest bit shy, but have come out of their shell a lot recently, and just want love! 🐶 In the blue sweater is Robin, a 5 year old male chihuahua. He came from the same home as Terra and Angel, but is a bit more outgoing. You can’t help but love Robin — even dogs in our program who are picky with others often don’t mind his company! Those are just a few! This purdy girl is Gia! She was one of the recent mamas we took in. We estimate her to be 6 years young and possibly a heeler/Akita or Shepherd mix. We are still learning about her, but so far we’ve learned that she’s an absolute sweetheart and eager to be a good girl. Interested in Gia? Come meet her today! She’s at our main facility. Jellybean descends from a storied bloodline, rich with history. His paternal ancestors are said to have served at Pharoah’s right hand, while his mother comes from a long line of felines known to guard the tombs and cemeteries of voodoo priestesses in the French Quarter. Okay, so we might not know that for fact, but that’s our guess! Jellybean has an otherworldly quality about him, with a sleek body, strong forehead, and chartreuse eyes. He’s 2 years old, gets along well with others, and is sweet, friendly, and more than ready to start the next part of his own story. This big, gooey cinnamon bun is Zuko. He’s sweet and very outgoing. 🍯 He runs to greet you and loves being pet. He gets along well with the other cats in his shared cattery. Paisley 🌼🍄 This one year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix is looking for someone to believe in. She’s pretty timid and uneasy in the loud shelter setting, and clings to staff for comfort (she tries to hold onto you when you leave 🥺). Around strangers, she is very unsure, so during a meet and greet, she’ll need to take things slowly. While it might not be butterflies 🦋 and magic sparks ✨ within the first few moments of meeting her, she DOES warm up quickly, and then is your closest shadow. She has a very adorable underbite that gives her a cute pouty face, and she has an unexpected curly tail! Because of her timid nature, we recommend kids 12+. She seems to get along well with other dogs with a slow and intentional introduction, and we have not yet tested her around cats. Paisley is at our main facility. Is Oliver cute or WHAT? 🤩 The vet team estimates Oliver to be one and a half years old, but he’s ALL puppy. His eyes are full of wonder and excitement, and he’s a sweet and endearing flurry of big paws and soft fur. He appears to be a livestock guardian breed mix and is 55lbs. He’s extremely loving, but hasn’t had pawrents to teach him the do’s and don’ts, so he will need patience and positive reinforcement to learn things like not jumping or playing mouth-first (perfectly depicted in the video — not mean whatsoever, just a boisterous pupper!) If you might be the committed and active home that Oliver is looking for, he’d LOVE to meet you! He’s at our main facility.
