People always seem to ask me why I started At Home Instead Farm & Pet Sitting Services.
The truth is I always used to board my dogs at boarding facilities or vet kennels when I was taking trips.
My parrots and cats I would have someone come to the house and check on them as well as give food and water.
Every time I returned from a trip and picked the dogs up; Pagan my oldest Great Dane would always seem very depressed.
The people at the boarding facilities and kennels were great; however Pagan really struggled with separation anxiety and would become extremely stressed out listening to other dogs barking. She wouldn't eat properly and would lose weight.
My other dog Peter would come home and be extremely anxious. Usually one or both picked up a virus during their stay and this lead to unexpected vet bills and unexpected messes in the house.
My philosophy with At Home Instead is that the animals can remain in the safety and comfort of their own home. I follow the routines that they're used to. They get their playtime and just seem much more relaxed. Anxiety for most is low or non-existent.
I also believe my rates are extremely affordable and save pet parents more money than if they were to board their beloved pets away from home.
