It comes with a heavy heart that I make this post. EMHR will no longer be doing intakes of any kind. We can no longer afford to continue our work. For 8 years we have rescued everything from snakes to goats.
Our main goal was TNR programs for the cat overpopulation we face in Bradford County.. We can say we have helped many with their colonies and desexed hundreds of kittys. Unfortunately there just isn't enough funding to keep going. We would like to Thank everyone who donated and helped us with fundraisers. It was very much appreciated.

Honey is as sweet as her name. She is looking for her furever home. She has a hip injury that she will have for life. She has been checked by a vet and due to the fact it had healed by the time we got her. The vet says it doesn't cause her pain but she does walk with a limp. She gets along with other cats and small dogs.

Here's another reason to spay and neuter your pets. Most of the kittens born in colonies do not survive. They die of illness or are food for wildlife. The ones who do survive give you more kittens the following year. This little one less than 3 pounds has lost both of its eyes to illness. IF YOU FEED IT, YOU OWN IT. STOP THE SUFFERING. SPAY AND NEUTER.

We have 3 working girls available. They are looking for a barn or warehouse to keep rodent free. They are fully vetted. We will set them up and get them established in your barn or warehouse. They do require food, water, and a dry shelter . These girls don't require laps to curl up on. You can pet them but that's about the extent of human contact they want.

It's taken me a year to write this.
À CATS TALE
In August of 23, I received an anonymous call about a cat that was in bad shape in Hornbrook trailer park.
I took off for the trailer park to find the cat.
I found him behind the trailers laying next to a hedge row. The caller wasn't lying. The cat I named Church was filthy, matted had fly strike and severely emaciated. When I picked him up to put him in the carrier I was afraid he would break he was so thin. I figured he was another casualty of the trailer park. Owners moved and left him behind as I assumed no owner would let him suffer like that.
I got him home bathed him, groomed him and got him in a warm bed. His food had to be pureed and he ate like he was starved. The next day we headed to the vet. Church was to frail to be put under anesthesia for a thorough exam. He let Dr.K look him over and she found a lump in the back of his tongue. She gave him an injectable antibiotic and scheduled him for a 2 week check up.
Home we went. Church continued to be bathed and groomed every 3 days due to his salivary glands working overtime due to the lump on the back of his tongue. Church continued to be affectionate, and always purring. He wasn't thrilled about his baths but loved his grooming afterwards. Church went for his 2 week check up. Still unable to be put under anesthesia, Dr. K found some swelling under his tongue. She gave him an injectable steroid and a recheck for 2 weeks. When we returned for his check up Church had gained 1.3 lbs. He was still in good spirits , purring and wanting lovins. Church still had a great appetite. Dr K decided to give him another injectable steroid and recheck in 1 week. The day before the recheck I could tell Church wasn't himself. He did not jump up to greet me every time I walked into the room as he always did. I could tell he was tired. After his supper he got his bath and grooming. I wrapped him in a blanket and told him I would not leave him alone. I held him all night as he slept. Church crossed the rainbow bridge early that next morning in my arms, peacefully.
I did not know this cats history. I do know that he still had so much love left to give. He was abandoned when he needed someone the most. I'm so glad I got that call and got to be that someone.
RIP CHURCH❤️
