WE HAVE AN UPDATE!
"Dear BSR,
Thank you for remembering me on my special day. It is so much more than just “Gotcha” to me. I came to my forever family with my new little Boykin spaniel sister, Scout, and we have been joined at the hip ever since. I began my new life in Kansas as “Rowdy”. My sister and I are self-proclaimed “Johnson County Princesses” so we don’t hunt, but we can retrieve a ball thrown for 45 minutes and prefer the taste and feel of it to feathers and squishy mud. What’s a few cockleburs after daily fun at a private park?
More about me. I am a black hole for love, make myself available but do not impose. I just sit at Dad or Mom’s knee, look up and wait for the outpouring of affection which surely follows. I love bacon on “Bacon -Waffel Sundays and treats. I have fluffy fleece blankets in my “box” which is where I like to nap and sleep at night. And I love toys, did I mention toys? Lots of them, especially chewy bones and soft “creatures”.
I remain grateful to BSR for the expensive healthcare given me and my siblings and post illness recovery by a loving foster family.
More about me! In a word, I am beautiful, I know because everyone tells me so. My 1630 tag said I was “special” and more so because I was chosen. I am fluffy, mom says, “chubby”, but it’s all fru-fru, my sister is smooth with curly ears but I am delightfully covered with lots of curls which I maintain with scheduled trips to the beauty parlor for wash, trim and blow-out styling which I love.
When I was younger I was afraid of fireplugs so with therapy I was able to overcome the fear and learned how to balance ON TOP of the plug. See the photo!
My sister was “special ordered” and I was chosen, a fact I remind Scout of from time to time when we chat about who mom or Dad loves more. I am very thankful BSF found me and I hope you are able to continue to do the wonderful work of matching other LBD’s like myself with families waiting for us. In my case, Mom and Dad were grieving the loss of not one but two little brown spaniels to cancer within seven weeks, so my arrival was, well, heaven-sent, so too, little sister, Scout.
Please keep in touch and keep up the good work! I have two birthdays: the day I was born and then the day I met my forever family. Two celebratory days and more love."
