This is such a great analogy for explaining anticipation and some of the excitement our dogs experience.

Think of this scenario. You take your dog for a walk, and they are so excited to be going on a walk. Maybe pulling, not listening, and you might be struggling to get their attention. You finish the walk and decide not to take them for a walk for several days maybe even a week, since it wasn't as pleasant for you.

Finally you take your dog for a walk. They are ecstatic to being going for a walk with you. This time they pull more and get more excited with each new thing they see or smell!

You wait even longer for the next walk...see where I'm going with this? We sometimes unintentionally create this anticipation with our dogs to the point we struggle to gain their attention?

Sometimes just the simple act of making that walk a regular occurence can help make walks with your dog less of a struggle for you.

It's only fitting my very first client is the very first dog to ride in my brand new Subaru!

Cooper was my first client about 2 1/2 years ago before I attended school at Starmark academy when he was just a puppy!

I sure am going to miss Coop-a-loop and his whole entire family when they move away next year!

Such a gorgeous day!!! We had some fun outside while also working on Tyson's impulse control. Tyson lives for fetch! But, he can be quite bossy. Here he has to wait until I "free" him to get the ball.

You may notice I tell him down at the beginning of the video even though he is already in a down. Setting him up for success I'm reminding him what he is suppose to do which is down.
