Meet adorable Roxy! She’s a 14 week old chocolate Labrador Retriever. Roxy is your typical spunky, high energy, food crazy lab.

We’ve been working on getting a solid basic obedience foundation with her and she’s excelling beautifully! We’re also working on her impulse control because she’s easily excited especially over people and food (typical lab 😂).

Looking forward to seeing her grow into a well balanced dog with good manners.

If you need help with puppy training, we can help! Reach out today, call or text 630-220-1541.

From naughty to nice. This cutie is Baxter, he’s a 3 year old Shih-Tzu. When I first met Baxter I couldn’t even touch him. He’s cautious of new people and everything always had to be on his terms. He would even try and bite one of his owners. After a lot of hard work Baxter and I became besties and his owners now know what his triggers are. Baxter’s owners are now more equipped to know how to prevent his behaviors and can tell when he’s had enough and needs to go decompress. So proud of this lil man and his owners for putting in the time and work!

This lil lady is Cookie, she’s a 8 month old Miniature Bull Terrier. Cookie’s original owners kept her outside all the time and due to this cookie wasn’t house broke, wasn’t socialized and had no manners. Cookie’s new owners had never had a Bull Terrier before and weren’t quite sure what to do after they got her so they reached out to me immediately.

Since Cookie was an outside dog she didn’t know how to live in a house and started to become very destructive inside the house. Chewing up flooring, furniture and rugs. Cookie was also terrified to leave her house due to her previous owners lack of exposing her to the outside world. Things like a basic walk she was terrified of and would try to drag her owners back home.

When Cookie first met me it was all barking and growling. Stranger danger. She didn’t know what to think of me but now she trusts me and knows I’m not a threat.

Cookie and her owners have been working hard and she no longer is destructive inside the home. She loves walks and even enjoys going to community parks now. Her confidence is so much higher she’s a much happier dog and I love seeing her come out of her shell. She’s come such a long way.

Good job Cookie and Fam!

This ridiculously good looking boy is Murphy. He is a 3 year old Australian Shepherd. Murphy is a sweet soul that is eager to please humans.

However Murphy struggled badly with leash reactivity towards other dogs. Murphy’s owners recently got another puppy and that when Murphy’s behavior really started to get bad, which is why his owners called me.

Murphy used to lunge and bark like a mad man at other dogs. Now he can easily walk by multiple dogs without doing so. He is so much more focused on his owner and wanting to please her that he isn’t interested in reacting towards other dogs.

Very proud of how far they’ve come! 👏🏻

This big floof ball is Daisy! This post is a bit delayed as I’ve been quite busy and not too great at keeping up with social media!

Daisy is a Saint Bernard Poodle mix. At the time she was just 4 months old and her owner wanted to get Daisy started off with exposure training right away because she could tell that Daisy was a bit of a nervous pup outside of the home.

Daisy and her owner have been working very hard to help build up her confidence to help Daisy develop into a well balanced dog.

Can’t wait to see the dog that she turns into!

Transformation Tuesday!!

This is River, he started training with me when he was 14 weeks old. His owner hadn’t had a puppy in a very long time and after she got River she was so lost on what to do because nothing seemed to be going right. She initially got River to be her walking partner and the first time I met River he refused to walk on a leash (as many puppies do because they don’t understand it). Now River and his owner walk 3 miles, 3 times a day and love it together.

River was just a typical spunky pup trying his owner’s patience but with consistent training and time River has turned into a well behaved gentleman. I recently passed River with his CGC (canine good citizen) title and TKN (trick dog novice) title.

There were many times River’s owner felt like giving up and thought they’d never achieve their goals (which was getting their CGC title so River could become a therapy dog). I told River’s owners it would happen, that they had to believe in him and now they’re on their way to therapy training!

So proud of River and his owner ❤️ a true result in consistency with training and patience.

Say hi to Hubert! This guy is a 7 month German Shepherd mix rescue.

Hubert is a stunning fella and he knows it. Hubert’s owner reached out to me because as stunning as he is, he is also very stubborn. Hubert was having issues deciding that on walks he was just done walking and his owner would have to carry him the rest of the way home. Hubert also would demand to play and want to play with his owners hands and feet like they were a dog toy.

Hubert and his owners have made great success and I’m so happy to see them being able to communicate to each other and understand one another.

Everyone meet Gemma!

Gemma is an adorable 4 month old Cane Corso. Her owners reached out to me for training because they knew how important it was to start training right away.

The Cane Corso is a guardian breed which is why it is extremely important to start exposure training as soon as possible. As they grow older and mature they will become wary of anyone outside the immediate family.

Gemma was a little on the shy side but has done fantastic with all of her outings. Her owners will continue to help keep her confidence as a growing puppy.

Way to go Gem! Can’t wait to see the beautiful dog you turn into.

Bates and I would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸.

Please remember that although many humans enjoy fireworks, the majority of dogs do not. This is a day that it’s best to keep your dog home and if possible in their crates. Too many dogs get injured and lost on the 4th of July. Dogs do not understand fireworks and can become terrified and accidentally hurt themselves. This is a day that our dogs look to us to keep them safe and protect them. Just as they do for us everyday.

This smiling girl is Ellie,

Ellie is a 10 month old German Shepherd mix. Ellie was not all smiles at the beginning of our first lesson. Ellie was not a fan of new people coming in and out of her house. With some confidence building and trust she opened up to me.

Ellie’s owners needed some help on how to guide her to become confident and obedient. Which is just what we did!

Ellie’s owners are rocking it! Just after 3 lessons I am so impressed with how far they’ve come from our first lesson.

Ellie and her owners have a much better relationship with mutual respect. Ellie is an eager to please dog but somewhere down the line there was lack of communication between her and her owners. Not anymore!

This happy dude is Capone!

Capone is a 5 month old American Bully/English Bulldog/French Bulldog mix.

This guy has such the personality and is a hoot! He is very stubborn and would much rather do what’s on his own agenda than listen to his owners.

Capone’s owners had some concerns about how he was reacting to other dogs. They weren’t sure if he was trying to play (bully breeds can sound quite nasty when playing) or if he had aggression issues with dogs.

This lil man has a long story before he even got to his new owners and because of that he was showing reactivity towards other dogs.

Capone has come such a long was since our first lesson. He’s doing great with exposure training and realizing not all dogs are out to get him.

Please welcome Frisky to the CCA family!

Frisky was found by a shelter roaming around with no owner to be found. The shelters best guess is that Frisky is a 2 year old Keeshond mix.

Frisky was adopted by my great clients. It’s been awhile since they’ve had a big young high energy pup. We’re working on the basics with Frisky right now.

Frisky is one smart guy. He’s picked up on everything very quickly. He’s definitely a pup that needs consistency!

This lil cutie is Murphy!
Murphy is a 10 week old Lab pup. Her owners reached out to CCA because they became overwhelmed with all of the puppy training information on the internet. Murphy’s owners wanted to make sure she was set up for success from the beginning.

We have been working on puppy exposure training as well as obedience. Murphy is a confident quick learning pup. I can’t wait to see the wonderful well mannered dog she becomes.

This handsome guy is Thor. Thor’s owners originally reached out to me in the fall because they had recently relocated here. They went from living into a house with a fenced in back yard to a busy apartment complex. Thor was having great anxiety with this and was really struggling being able to walk past other dogs or even seeing them from a distance. He wasn’t used to this lifestyle and needed some help with building his confidence.

Behavior modification training takes time and patience. I’m pleased with the progress that Thor and his owners have made, congratulations!

Everyone meet Hudson!

Hudson is a 5 month old Cane Corso pup weighing in at 78lbs.

He is the sweetest boy and very eager to please.
Due to the Corso being a guardian breed, we have been working on a lot of exposure training to help shape him into becoming a well balanced dog.

Hudson’s owner would like to be able to take him places when he is an adult. Because this breed can be aloof of strangers and easily get over 100lbs + early training is crucial.

Hudson has been excelling with his exposure and obedience training. Can’t wait to see this big boy grow up!

This smiley girl is Bella. Bella is a 4 year old Boxer/ Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.

Bella is a super sweet girl but she was very leash reactive which lead to her owners to stop walking her.

Bella was also very stubborn and had some bad habits like jumping on guests and counter surfing.

With hard work and consistency Bella has made huge strides with her training. Bella’s owners are now able to enjoy walking her, which Bella desperately needs because she has a lot of energy.

Way to go team!

Everyone meet Alfie!
Alfie is a 5 year old Mini Australian Shepherd. His owner rescued him and quickly after a couple weeks realized they needed some help with training.

Alfie is a sweet lovable lil guy but boy oh boy did he hate cars and bicycles that went by him when he was on a walk. He would lunge, bark and do everything in his power to try and get to those objects. His owner had never dealt with anything like that before and reached out to CCA for help.

Alfie has done fantastic with training and made so much progress. He no longer lunges and barks at cars or bicycles, which makes it a much nicer calmer walk for him and his owner.

Keep up the great work!

Meet this cutie Gigi!

Gigi is a 3 year old mini Goldendoodle. Her owner reached out to me because Gigi was very leash reactive. She was mostly reactive to other dogs but also wasn’t a fan of being approached by children.

When I first met Gigi she was a very anxious dog that had some trust and confidence issues. Gigi now is thriving and doing fantastic on her walks. Her body language overall is drastically different from when we first started. She is a much more confident dog that is very happy on her walks now.

Keep up the great work team!

Please welcome Bentley into the CCA Family!

Bentley is a 2 year old Lab mix that is such a happy friendly soul, that is until the landscape trucks come on by. Bentley lives in a fairly busy area where landscaping trucks go by on the daily.

Bentley would completely loose it once he saw a landscaping truck and then his behavior started branching over to other types of working trucks. No matter what his owners tried they couldn’t get Bentley to calm down.

After a couple of lessons Bentley is doing amazing with any kind of truck coming near his house.

Bentley was also a very bad puller which led to his owners to stop walking him. He also needed basic obedience, which he picked up very easily.

Bentley now walks beautifully on a leash and gets to go back on his regular routine walks.

Please welcome Gus to the CCA family!

Gus is a 9 week old German Shepherd. Gus’s owners had a German Shepherd in the past but that dog was very nervy and anxious so they wanted to make sure that they started Gus off immediately on the right track.

Gus is a little smarty pants and has excelled with his puppy basic obedience. Gus has learned sit (stays), down (stays), wait, leave it, door manners, release, and more!

Can’t wait to see Gus grow into his full potential. Keep it up team!

Say hello to Tito. Tito is a 6 year old Boxer that has had a lot of different changes throughout his life. This has created Tito to have severe anxiety.

Tito used to be very leash reactive to people and dogs. For the majority of his life he didn’t have a lot of exposure to people outside of his home or just things outside the home in general (like passing other dogs on walks). Tito’s owners living situation has changed and he lives in an apartment now, which is a HUGE change for Tito.

We’ve been working with Tito to build his confidence as well as doing exposure training. Tito needs to know that he is okay and safe in these new life changes.

This is definitely a long process but he has made great strides!

Everyone meet this happy go lucky guy Mylo. Mylo is a 9 month old Chocolate Lab.

Mylo and his owners were struggling with leash walking, impulse control and overall basic obedience.

Mylo immediately caught on right away (definitely helped that he was very food motivated!).

After 5 lessons Mylo is able to heel beautiful on leash, wait at doors until released, sit stays and down stays from distance with distractions and much more!

Way to go team! Mylo and his owners have been working very hard and boy does it show.

Meet Copper! This handsome fella is an 8 month old Doberman puppy that was causing quite the mischief in his house.

Like many large breed puppy owners, his owners forgot that just because he grew so quickly that he’s still just a big pup. They gave him too much freedom and not enough boundaries.

When Coppers owners would ask him to do something he’d look at them and give them the “nah I’d rather be doing what I’m doing” look.

We’ve been working on Copper’s basic obedience. As well as adding in boundaries and structure and boy is he thriving.

Doberman’s are extremely smart and if Coppers owners didn’t stay on him he’d definitely push the boundaries.

Very proud of the progress of Copper and his owners!

Everyone meet this Floofball Ellie! She is a 16 week old Aussiedoodle.

Ellie came from an interesting situation. At 5 weeks old her breeder gave her to a family member and then at 11 weeks that family member decided they couldn’t keep her.

Ellie found her forever home with my clients but as soon as they got her home they began seeing some challenges. Ellie started to immediately show signs of separation anxiety. Crate training became a nightmare for her new owners because her previous owner never crated her and Ellie slept with them in bed.

Ellie also needed help with puppy exposure as well as basic obedience.

Ellie is a ROCKSTAR and now happily goes into her crate on command. She no longer howls and cries constantly in her crate. She is a super smart pup that is excelling greatly with her obedience training.

Way to go Lil Floof!

Meet Re*****on!

Re*****on is a 6 year old Weimaraner. You would never believe that she’s 6 years old if you met her. She has the energy level of a 2 year old.

Re*****on is a sweet heart but she loves to jump on everyone and her listening skills with her owners were not the best. Re*****ons biggest issues were barking at everyone and everything and pulling like a mad woman. Her owners stopped walking her because they couldn’t control her anymore and walking her wasn’t fun anymore. Which really wasn’t doing much good either because Re*****on really needed those walks to help release some of that pent up energy she has.

Re*****on and her owners have made great strides in her training and now they are able to happily walk Re*****on. As well as set other boundaries inside and outside of the home.

About Me

Hi Everyone! My name is Raechel and I have loved all animals since I was a little girl. When I was 5 years old I started out by reading dog breed encyclopedias. I have over 10 years experience in the pet industry ranging from doggy daycare, training, boarding to working in a veterinary hospital. For the last 4 years, I was a Kennel Manager of a pet resort in the Chicagoland where I was responsible for the care of up to 400 dogs per day. I specialize in dog behavior and aggression, as well as special needs dogs. Creating strong relationships with dogs is what I do. My goal is to rehabilitate all dogs that need help. I also provide basic obedience and work with all breeds and all ages.

Communication is the foundation to any relationship, especially with our fur babies. Each dog has their own personaility and communicates in a variety of ways. My mission is to bridge the gap between pets and their people, so you can communicate with one another more clearly.
