Meet this doll face Ember!

Ember is a 7 month old English Cocker Spaniel. Ember is as sweet as they come but like a typical puppy she is always on the go and getting herself into things!

We’ve been working on basic obedience, impulse control and potty training. Ember is quick to pick up what she’s learned however she’s now entering her “teenage” phase where pups can tend to test boundaries with their owners. This is where it’s crucial for owners to not get frustrated and to keep up with training.

Keep up the great work!

Meet this handsome fella George! He’s a 5 year old Boxer.

George loved to take HIS mom for walks before we started working together. It had gotten to the point where George’s mom started to dread walking George because he was so strong and had no leash manners. He used to love taking chunks of grass out of people’s lawns as he’d walk by and eat it 😂. George payed attention to everything BUT his owner on walks and his owner no longer felt comfortable that they could control George.

George and his owners have come along way. George isn’t aggressive or reactive in anyway, he just gets super excited to see the world. George’s owner now feels confident enough to walk George in public settings, which George is thriving in. Keep up the great work!

Everyone meet Jax! He’s a 3 month old Pit Bull that already weighs over 30lbs. He’s going to be one big boy! Jax is nothing but a lover with LOTS of puppy energy (this is a high energy breed).

Jax was really struggling with potty training in the beginning. After working with him and his owner we’ve gotten them on the right track and Jax will now even let his owners know when he has to go to the bathroom.

Jax also loved to play tug of war with his leash while going on walks. Boy was he feisty! Jumping, biting, thrashing at the leash. Not to mention he was a puller that walked all over the place. He no longer plays with his leash like it’s a toy and walks nicely on a loose leash.

He’s growing up into a well behaved dog with a great disposition!

For those of you that don’t know, Bates and I are a dual cross trained service dog team. We love to help volunteer for Vets to Vets United, Inc and help veterans train their dogs to become service dogs. Today was Vets To Vets United 5K9 Dog Jog, Bates and I had a blast supporting them. It was a great turn out! Terry Morris you did a fantastic job, as always!

Everyone meet Bailey! She’s an almost 2 year old Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix.

Bailey is a wickedly smart dog but it was her owners that needed some help guiding Bailey on what they wanted her to do. I always tell my clients, “the dogs are the easy part. It’s the owners that are the hard part 😉”.

Bailey now loads up easily into a vehicle (which she refused to do before). She’s learned how to heel and not react to other dogs (which was the main reason her owners reached out to me). Bailey also learned basic commands like, place, sit stay, release, recall.

I’m extremely proud of the progress Bailey and her owners have made. Keep up the great work team!

Meet adorable Roxy! She’s a 14 week old chocolate Labrador Retriever. Roxy is your typical spunky, high energy, food crazy lab.

We’ve been working on getting a solid basic obedience foundation with her and she’s excelling beautifully! We’re also working on her impulse control because she’s easily excited especially over people and food (typical lab 😂).

Looking forward to seeing her grow into a well balanced dog with good manners.

From naughty to nice. This cutie is Baxter, he’s a 3 year old Shih-Tzu. When I first met Baxter I couldn’t even touch him. He’s cautious of new people and everything always had to be on his terms. He would even try and bite one of his owners. After a lot of hard work Baxter and I became besties and his owners now know what his triggers are. Baxter’s owners are now more equipped to know how to prevent his behaviors and can tell when he’s had enough and needs to go decompress. So proud of this lil man and his owners for putting in the time and work!

This lil lady is Cookie, she’s a 8 month old Miniature Bull Terrier. Cookie’s original owners kept her outside all the time and due to this cookie wasn’t house broke, wasn’t socialized and had no manners. Cookie’s new owners had never had a Bull Terrier before and weren’t quite sure what to do after they got her so they reached out to me immediately.

Since Cookie was an outside dog she didn’t know how to live in a house and started to become very destructive inside the house. Chewing up flooring, furniture and rugs. Cookie was also terrified to leave her house due to her previous owners lack of exposing her to the outside world. Things like a basic walk she was terrified of and would try to drag her owners back home.

When Cookie first met me it was all barking and growling. Stranger danger. She didn’t know what to think of me but now she trusts me and knows I’m not a threat.

Cookie and her owners have been working hard and she no longer is destructive inside the home. She loves walks and even enjoys going to community parks now. Her confidence is so much higher she’s a much happier dog and I love seeing her come out of her shell. She’s come such a long way.

Good job Cookie and Fam!

This ridiculously good looking boy is Murphy. He is a 3 year old Australian Shepherd. Murphy is a sweet soul that is eager to please humans.

However Murphy struggled badly with leash reactivity towards other dogs. Murphy’s owners recently got another puppy and that when Murphy’s behavior really started to get bad, which is why his owners called me.

Murphy used to lunge and bark like a mad man at other dogs. Now he can easily walk by multiple dogs without doing so. He is so much more focused on his owner and wanting to please her that he isn’t interested in reacting towards other dogs.

Very proud of how far they’ve come! 👏🏻

This big floof ball is Daisy! This post is a bit delayed as I’ve been quite busy and not too great at keeping up with social media!

Daisy is a Saint Bernard Poodle mix. At the time she was just 4 months old and her owner wanted to get Daisy started off with exposure training right away because she could tell that Daisy was a bit of a nervous pup outside of the home.

Daisy and her owner have been working very hard to help build up her confidence to help Daisy develop into a well balanced dog.

Can’t wait to see the dog that she turns into!

Transformation Tuesday!!

This is River, he started training with me when he was 14 weeks old. His owner hadn’t had a puppy in a very long time and after she got River she was so lost on what to do because nothing seemed to be going right. She initially got River to be her walking partner and the first time I met River he refused to walk on a leash (as many puppies do because they don’t understand it). Now River and his owner walk 3 miles, 3 times a day and love it together.

River was just a typical spunky pup trying his owner’s patience but with consistent training and time River has turned into a well behaved gentleman. I recently passed River with his CGC (canine good citizen) title and TKN (trick dog novice) title.

There were many times River’s owner felt like giving up and thought they’d never achieve their goals (which was getting their CGC title so River could become a therapy dog). I told River’s owners it would happen, that they had to believe in him and now they’re on their way to therapy training!

So proud of River and his owner ❤️ a true result in consistency with training and patience.

Say hi to Hubert! This guy is a 7 month German Shepherd mix rescue.

Hubert is a stunning fella and he knows it. Hubert’s owner reached out to me because as stunning as he is, he is also very stubborn. Hubert was having issues deciding that on walks he was just done walking and his owner would have to carry him the rest of the way home. Hubert also would demand to play and want to play with his owners hands and feet like they were a dog toy.

Hubert and his owners have made great success and I’m so happy to see them being able to communicate to each other and understand one another.

About Me

Hi Everyone! My name is Raechel and I have loved all animals since I was a little girl. When I was 5 years old I started out by reading dog breed encyclopedias. I have over 10 years experience in the pet industry ranging from doggy daycare, training, boarding to working in a veterinary hospital. For the last 4 years, I was a Kennel Manager of a pet resort in the Chicagoland where I was responsible for the care of up to 400 dogs per day. I specialize in dog behavior and aggression, as well as special needs dogs. Creating strong relationships with dogs is what I do. My goal is to rehabilitate all dogs that need help. I also provide basic obedience and work with all breeds and all ages.

Communication is the foundation to any relationship, especially with our fur babies. Each dog has their own personaility and communicates in a variety of ways. My mission is to bridge the gap between pets and their people, so you can communicate with one another more clearly.
