Trying out the camera. Seems to be in the wrong place, will find a better place
Introducing, MARIAH.
Getting more and more talkative
Good morning sunshine. Kisses galore this morning.
1 week here and they are coming to see me without running away
Tom Turtle from Tacoma. Lol
As I learn, I will teach you.
Tom ate food yesterday and enjoys his heat lamp immensely. He stares at me through the glass now. Still a little skiddish when picked up. I only pick him up to change his water.
Did you know? They shed, huge scales off their shell. When I first saw it, I had no idea if there was vents or something on his shell. Nope just shell scales. I guess this is how they grow bigger shells to fit all that body in there
They do not like to be in the water constantly, he gets up to the light to dry off and warm up.
He likes the water moving, the filter I bought has a bar of water jets forcing the pond scum into the filter. He is 9" long and 5.5" wide and 5.5 " high. His shel is black, but his belly is yellow. He has bright black eyes and likes Turtle Fix. Smells good too. Its antibiotic for his, what appears to be a pus sack. It is half the size it was on Subday, when rescued.
Hopefully he can go to Living Shores Aquarium in Glen so I can go visit. I will mis stinky Tom when he is gone.
Sadly. I will NOT be re-homing these twp.
The woman who raised these beauties, died after having them for 39 and 28 years respectively. She, Maxxy is now bonded with me and I, in good conscious cannot do that again to them.
After much thought and conversation, my family has agreed to keep them at home with us.
Sorry, but we all feel this is better for them both.
