Meet cowboy Joe...
A cowboy who loves his animals and his family is just the kind of cattle rancher you will want raising the beef for your pets and your family.
At Dejo's Artisan we have combined cowboy Joe Mielke's passion for raising the best grass fed and finished beef that is ALWAYS ethically raised and hormone and antibiotic free, with my passion for pets and cooking.
This allows us come up with some of the best darn pet food and treats available on the market today!!!
I am not just a chef but also a "pinch hitting ranch hand" who takes my job on the ranch of "staying out of the way" and having entirely too much fun mucking stalls and corrals very seriously.
Actually I love seeing not only how our beef we use in all our signature "Dejo Dough" for our ever expanding list of pet food and treats is raised and taken care of, but also getting to be a part of this wonderful family that has been actively involved in Alberta cattle ranching for over 35 years.
Together with cowboy Joe, his sister Rainy, his lovely Eleanor, myself and my 6 adult kids we are working to not only be a part of the solution for helping our Alberta ranchers and farmers keep their ranches and farms and keep on raising cattle and farming but also have one heck of a lot of fun creating this business for our families and yours.
Add in the wild rice and h**p seed we use from another family business at Floating Leaf Rice, who are a 4th generation family business and we are very excited to be growing our own fruit and vegetables used in our dog food & treats.
We not only use the best ingredients in all of our products but we truly put our heart and soul into everything we create and we are pretty darn certain your pets are going to love our products!
I am also pretty darn certain that I actually have the best gig of all, creating wonderful recipes and cooking for all our beloved pets and yours AND getting to play at the ranch pretending to make myself useful while I really do try to stay out of harm's way!!!
By the way that is cowboy Joe's lovely Eleanor up on that horse and not me, as we have all collectively decided it is best for all involved if I just "play at ranch hand" and not actually ride a horse anymore.
Cooking for pets, well that is my passion and I am just happy getting to be a part of the fun.
Insane amount of such hard work cattle ranching is, but just an unbelievably fulfilling way of life.
