Equine Dental Health Reminder

Regular dental examinations are crucial for maintaining optimal equine health. A recent case highlights the importance of early detection:

- Excessive protuberance on tooth 206
- Possible infection on lower molar 306
- Mild gingivitis due to molar misalignment

Regular 6-month checks from 14 months to 6 years old can prevent such issues. Delayed treatment requires more frequent (every 2 months) and costly corrections.

Don’t overlook your horse’s dental health. Schedule regular check-ups to ensure optimal performance and well-being.

Lets talk "NORMAL"
this is an example of a 9 yr old mouth that has had routine work almost every year.
Buccal sharp points and 06 hooks develop relatively fast and can cause dropping grain, loosing weight, irritations or abnormal outbursts while riding, ETC.

Hard work does pay off.
1 yr ago we visited a new client and they told me one of their horses had a head bobbing issue and wasn’t bending and had a collection issue. #108 was protuberant and there was a diastema where #408 was missing.
Over the last year we have caught up with it and were able to completely level it out with the arcade and Doc is Showing better than ever and taking home some blues!
