This past June we held a fundraiser 💲 as some have seen in the previous 2 months posts - Sponsor -A -Clinic Cat!🐈‍⬛

This fundraiser was such a cute idea and so fun to put into place. Watching kiddos 🧒 👦 and adults 👩 👨pick out a stuffed🐈🐈‍⬛ friend to take home, name it and fill out an adoption certificate 📜 then get their picture 📸 (if they chose to), then we got the fun of trying to match to the best of what we could, with a cat 🐱 that came in for the clinic the last 3 months. White cats were the hardest and most unfortunately weren’t solid white but we came close!

We hope you had fun with this like we did and as the fundraiser coordinator I continue to think 🤔 of new fun ideas- our next though is our Bingo Oct 17th, 2024 🗓️ and trust me you do not want to miss out on the prize baskets 🧺 or silent 🔕 auction items!

So for the final sponsors for the sponsor - a - cat 🐈‍⬛ for August and to wrap up this fundraiser, have fun looking thru the included photos!

Thank you 😊 to all who participated with this and we hope you enjoyed your sponsorship post and are taking great care of your stuffed friend 🐈‍⬛🐈for life!

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted- Aespo

Event #39 is officially wrapped up and in the books as ✅
This event officially makes -

wait for it…..

1804 cats 🥳🥳 we have taken thur our clinic since the very beginning! 39 events - 1804 cats!! 🎉🐈🐈‍⬛🥳🐈🐈‍⬛🥳🐈🐈‍⬛🥳

The clean up 🧹 crew & release crews did their things this morning and all kitties 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 were returned to their homes, equipment cleaned 🧼 and supplies packed away until next month for event #40!

While some events go smooth as butter 🧈 - others slow and steady as molasses. This event, I personally call molasses 😂 maybe even a little over the expiration date molasses😜 ( and those things have a major long shelf life if done properly 🤣😂) . But here’s the thing, any community service, volunteer program or really life takes a village and Pawsitively Jefferson County has just that - our small mighty village!

This event was full of eventful moments from start to finish - the finish takes the cake and wins the award!
Volunteer Dina, while releasing today had one kitty 🐈‍⬛ decide after being released her car 🚙 sounded like the best place to run to instead of back to his home. She tried everything to get the little guy out but nothing was working. Thankfully she was able to phone a friend and was able to have help get said stowaway out and she was able to wrap up.

Last post I shared some photos from the set up and event, this post is sharing some of the clean up and release loading.

I hope sharing these events shines a little light 💡 on the work that goes into this program, from start to finish 🏁.
However there is so much more behind the scenes to get the event planned- from the trapper coordinator taking calls 📳📴, planning the locations 🏡for the trappers, last minute changes, the volunteer coordinator making sure every spot needed has someone to fill it - this involves emails, phone calls 🤳, texts 💬 until it’s figured out. Then there is also the shopping 🛒 for supplies- litter, gloves 🧤 , wipes, soap, disinfectants etc, and meal 🍽️ planning and prep and cooking for the event as the vet staff and volunteers are provided an amazing home cooked meal 🥘 Saturday of the event- we do have some amazing cooks 👩🏻‍🍳🧑‍🍳!
The group also holds a monthly meeting to discuss previous event, upcoming and anything in between and more. It really is a full time program ran by 💯 volunteers putting in whatever time they can and want - and it works! 👏

Pawsitively Volunteers- THANK YOU! You all are amazing and many tell us this but today this event post I want to make sure it’s said here to!

Once again thank you for following along our journey and from all of us at Pawsitively, we hope you have a wonderful Sunday evening!

Compassion brings us to a stop, and for a moment we rise above ourselves - Mason Cooley

Here at Pawsitively compassion is deep in our hearts and souls and cat clinic weekends we come together to make it all happen and change the lives of the cats that go thru the clinic.

Event #39 is almost done- the night crew is wrapping up as this post is being written as the day crew had a very long slow full day. 41 cats came thru the door, 39 were fixed, 1 was already fixed but received an ear tip so she doesn’t have to go thru the process ever again and 1 was just to small and sick to go thru safely at this time.
Release day and clean up still to come and then rest and refresh!

Lots and lots of kittens this round which is a good thing as they get to live their lives without reproducing. Some red cups indicating aggressive but most were just scared and not truly aggressive.

All in all we call today another successful event and look forward to event #40! It will be here before we know it!

Watch for the upcoming post for our summer fundraiser of sponsor-a-cat as this event should wrap those up ! And don’t forget Bingo coming up Oct 17th!!

How can 1 person save 100 cats? ….. 🐈‍⬛ 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈
Easy just spay 1!

Saturday Caturday event #39 is here!
Our set up crew, trapper crews and check in crew all have been busy preparing for the arrival of kitties, running all over Jefferson County, weighing, feeding, handling paperwork and have officially met their numbers and are resting up for clinic day tomorrow! The night crew has checked in and on, fed and tucked in the cats for the night!
The heart and soul all of the volunteers we have is amazing. If you are looking for something to invest some extra time in, we are always looking for and welcoming new volunteers!

A few pictures to enjoy from 1 of our trapping teams for this clinic.

The little white cat just going in far enough to eat and not set off the trap 😅 eventually the cooked chicken volunteer Niki makes every trapping morning was just too tempting and irresistible😋

Big Boy 🐈‍⬛ hung out by traps telling all the smaller ones “don’t go in there “

Our youngest volunteer Lizzie got to have an after school stop to see her favorite kitten 🐈 from a past event while her mom picked up from trapping that day.

Volunteer Niki and Big Boy 🐈‍⬛ making friends since he had his spa day in June and was very mean and feral then and come to find out he’s the biggest love bug 😽ever or maybe he’s just extremely thankful and feels so much healthier and happy now and can be a truer version of himself 🐱

Volunteer Dina checking in some she trapped - look at that smile 😊 - she’s in heaven!

Cats cats cats - every where cats! 🐈‍⬛ 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈

New mama - she will have to wait till next time but good job mama take care of your babies - we’ll be back!

And last but not least - young lady /man it’s not nice to stick out your tounge at people 🤭😂🤣

Stay tuned for more fun from the clinic this weekend!!!

Event #38 is in progress!
Our group of trappers had 2 full days of trapping in various locations and ended up with 45 cats for the clinic this weekend! Trapping takes a lot of patience and trying all kinds of different things. The reward of the day’s hard work, is knowing we’ve helped the caregivers, made the cats’ lives so much better and helping reduce the population from growing of feral kitties!

If you sponsored a cat at one of the events this summer, make sure to watch this page for your sponsorship post in the next few days!!

Attached is our youngest volunteer Lizzie utilizing a drop trap and a trap full of kittens that are finally big enough to be spayed or neutered!

Want to get in on the action and become a volunteer? Let us know! We are always welcoming new team members to help our mission!

We had amazing people of all ages come by our booth for OSSR this past weekend and so many donated to become sponsors of a clinic cat! 🐈 They adopted a stuff kitty, named it, told us what color and filled out the certificate. 😽In return they got to take home their stuffed friend and we get to have fun matching them with a kitty that went thru our clinic! 😺
So in no particular order, as we don’t know when the certain colors will come thur the clinic and we want to best match to the sponsor’s description, we found from our event this past weekend 7 matched! 🐾🐾🐾🐾
We hope you give your new friend a good home, enjoy your stuffed kitty 🐈‍⬛ and love the one we chose to match it with while in our care!

Remember to watch 😺this page if you adopted for your sponsorship post in the upcoming clinics! From all of us at Pawsitively 🐾 we thank you for your support and donation, it helps us continue to help as many kitties 🐱 we can to give better lives to ♥️🐈🐾♥️🐈‍⬛♥️🐾♥️

We are deeply saddened to share that our friend, Judy Bailey has passed away. Judy was a valuable member of Pawsitively Jefferson County. She went above and beyond for the group and for the community cats.

Judy was a beautiful lady with a gentle soul. She always made those around her feel comfortable, included and loved. She loved her family, her many friends, and all animals. She felt that cats were the underdogs, unappreciated, and didn’t receive the care they needed. She was their champion!

Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
