Let’s talk about brushing and maintenance in between grooms whether it’s here or at home!

After a bath and blow dry it’s important to thoroughly brush out your pup with a slicker brush and go back over it with a comb also known as a greyhound comb to ensure there’s no tangles closer to the skin. I’m going to explain what your pup should look like leaving our salon or at home ❤️ We know there’s a big stigma about shaving dogs who we want to keep fluffy. While we understand things happen, it’s really important to brush at home and regular grooms schedule so we can keep your pup at a manageable yet adorable cut. Personally, those are my favorite grooms. I don’t shave unless requested or if the hair is matted beyond saving. I’m all about cute haircuts but I’m also all about the safety of your pet and not causing them pain to achieve the desired groom. Your pup is my main priority ❤️

On the first picture, one leg is brushed and combed while the other is blowdried only. Can you guess which one?
If you guessed it right this is how you know your pup is properly brushed out!

On the second & third picture is the tail which we see the most matting because of the friction the tail endures on a daily basis. It is fairly important to brush and comb the tail out after a bath because as you can see on the second picture the tail is blow dried but not brushed out and this can cause matting fairly easy. The third is a properly brushed out tail from the skin down!

Not pictured but the ears are just as important as the tail and should be brushed out as it also endures daily friction.
