We’ll only be at the first few weeks of the @slcfarmersmarket Winter Market this year, but boy do we have a stack of goodies for you for the kickoff market this Saturday. Beets, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, apples, butter lettuce, and more will be piled high and ready for you at the Gateway this Saturday 10-2. We’ll even have a few heirloom tomatoes, I’m amazed to say.
We’re back to the north end of the Gateway this year (by the fountain), and you’ll find us just inside the entrance to the market.
Do you enjoy a burning sensation on your scalp and a gorilla quantity of hair on your chest? Then these full-octane mustard greens are for you! More potent than a mouthful of horseradish, and guaranteed to cure over 57 different ailments, or at least to wake you up faster than a venti quad shot extra whip mocha with 10 pumps of syrup.
We’ll have these and plenty of other goodies at the final Wheeler Farm Market of the year this Sunday. We’re going out with a bang at Wheeler so I’m skipping the Saturday SLC market and bringing all the goods on Sunday! See you there!
I have a few apple trees that stay covered with insect netting to keep the birds and coddling moths at bay.
Uncovered them today and we’ll have some of these ultra-premium, beyond-organic, tart-sweet, hyphen-friendly golden delicious beauties for markets this weekend.
I didn’t mind last Saturday’s rain, but I don’t care to struggle with market canopies in the wind that is forecast for tomorrow at the Salt Lake Farmers Market.
On the other hand, Sunday looks like it will be a positively glorious day for a market, so I’ve decided to just bring everything to Wheeler Farm on Sunday.
We have a lot of veggies for just one market - Hope to see you there! Might even be jacket weather, isn’t that exciting!
Until recently trimming and pruning tomatoes took a full day of work for us every week. That is, until I figured out I can do it by just snapping my fingers.
Exciting new offering for market this weekend: sweet potato greens. Sweet potatoes are famously full of nutrients. But did you know that the greens are even more nutrient dense than the tubers? Packed with vitamins A, B6, and C, as well as fiber, protein, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, potassium, and iron!
Look up those recipes and come on by the @slcfarmersmarket market tomorrow to get some of these heat-loving greens.
We’ll also have the tables stacked with many other veggies, including carrots, beets, shish*tos, a mountain of fresh salad mix, onions, head lettuce, garlic, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and much more. See you there!
@wheelerhistoricfarm friends, yes, we’ll be at the Sunday market as well!
We’re going to embrace the hotness and head on down to the @slcfarmersmarket tomorrow to broil ourselves for 6-7 hours like a bunch of thanksgiving turkeys. Hope you’ll don your sombreros and join us for a while, we’ll have lots of veggies looking for new homes!
Draper-neighbors-who-don’t-like-to-go-to-the-downtown-market (most of you?) - rejoice! This Saturday we will be at the new @sandycityfarmersmarket, at the amphitheater/splash pad/senior center. Just 5 minutes from the farm, right up 13th east! Come see Whitney there from 9-1.
We’ll also be at our regular digs at the @slcfarmersmarket on Saturday and @wheelerhistoricfarm on Sunday, with heaps upon heaps of fresh, healthy, lovingly grown goodies. As always, come early for easy parking and best selection!
POV, pea picking party. Piles of pretty peas picked, plucked, portioned, and prepared to be ported to Pioneer Park, hope you come purchase and proceed to partake in these pretty petite peas! Phew! @slcfarmersmarket
Oops, we did it again! Another massive pile of these gorgeous rainbow carrots headed to the Wheeler Sunday Market. We have twice as many as last week so I’m hopeful they’ll last longer than 30 minutes!
We’ll also have a ton of greens, microgreens, and more. See you Sunday 9-1!
We won’t be setting up the farm stand here in Draper on Saturday - it’s calling for rain and if I get wet I’ll melt!
Here we go again! This Sunday is the start of our summer market season, and we’ve been as busy as a beaver in a beehive harvesting, rinsing, and packaging heaps of garden goodies.
Find us in our usual spot at the first Wheeler Farm Market of the season, this Sunday from 9-1. We’re bringing more carrots than we’ve ever brought to any market, scores of gigantic butter lettuce heads, salad mix, kales, turnips, radishes, and more.
But wait, there’s more - we have so much stuff that we’ll also be setting up in front of the farm in Draper on Saturday (tomorrow) morning, starting at 9. Neighbors, hope you come on over - 12820 South Fort Street. We will only be doing a farm stand in Draper for a couple of weekends until the Salt Lake City market starts on June 1st. Hope to see you tomorrow or Sunday so I can share some of these lovingly grown veggies with you!
Peas look good! Re: tomorrow - we will be out on Fort Street with the last of our plants starting at 9. No produce this week but if you need a couple extra tomatoes or peppers, stop on by!
