We are so heartbroken to be sharing this news with you today, but feel honored that we have the opportunity to give a tribute to such an amazing woman. The day that we met Lisa Ice was basically adoption day for us. We gained two bonus parents, and even a sister who loves dogs just as much as I do!
•
We met Lisa, her husband David, their daughter Jenna & their corgi Sparky after we had our very first litter out of Curby & Ivy. They ended up adopting the beautiful little MisMarked girl Zoe & from there, our relationship grew and we became so close.
•
The timing for us to meet them and give them the opportunity to bring Zoe into their family could not have been better. We learned that they had recently lost their corgi Bella & Lisa had also experienced a stroke that she was still recovering from. Lisa had such a positive attitude and a super sweet, yet determined personality. They decided on the name Zoe for their puppy because the name itself means “life”, and after all this family had been through, this new chapter felt like it had given them a new chance, or even a different perspective on life itself. Never to take anything for granted and that’s exactly how they lived moving forward.
•
In September of this year, Lisa was hospitalized again and her health unfortunately took a turn for the worst and only continued to get worse. She gained her wings this morning & I truly cannot think of a better way to put into words how we feel, than to quote exactly what jennamariebee said to me in the heartbreaking, yet beautiful text I got this morning.

“At 5:15 this morning, mama crossed the Rainbow Bridge on her way to Heaven. We were with her and holding her hand and wrapping her in love. She is beautifully and wonderfully at peace, as are we. Papa and I are immensely thankful we got to bask in her love in her final moments and smiled as we realized she was now with her precious animals and missed loved ones. Our hearts are deeply broken, but we will never stop loving her and being thankful for all she shared with us. She is flying in the wind and soaring with the eagles.”
