Now that we have your attention with the sweetest baby picture of Peyton!

This is just a reminder that we will be attending the St. Margaret's Church Holiday Bazaar on Saturday November 23rd from 9am-2pm.

We will be sharing with the community all the great things we are doing as well as accepting donations of dog and cat food.

We will also be accepting cash donations, and every donation of $5 or more, you will be able to choose from a large variety of handmade pet items that have been donated by Stitches of Kindness.

We sure do miss our sweet boy, but we are so blessed to be keeping his memory alive.

Makes sense to me, of course!!

“…puppy training before 6 months of age seems to be beneficial in reducing a substantial set of unwanted behaviors when the dog becomes an adult.”

Our group training membership offers you unlimited access to classes. See you soon!!

Enrolling a puppy in a puppy class before the age of 6 months reduces the likelihood of adult behavior problems such as aggression and destructive behavior.

Thank you for your service.

Thank you for your service.

These are what heroes look like; and we don't use that term lightly. Deputy Jack Thorpe and K9 Fiji spent 10 days in Western North Carolina searching for the missing. Jack and Fiji located more than 20 adults and children who had been reported missing, giving their families peace of mind in knowing where their loved ones are and the ability to give them a proper burial. As I type this I'm brought to tears thinking about some of the things they encountered and find myself wondering how heavy it must be for all of the SAR teams to carry around the memories of what they have encountered in the aftermath of Helene.

While details don't need to be shared, I will leave you with this, it takes a special kind of person to knowingly volunteer to go and search through hell and mud all in the name of giving families and communities closure. To say we are proud of Jack, K9 Fiji, and all of the other SAR teams would be a gross understatement. You guys are our unsung heroes, and for that, we will all be forever grateful.

"We are done. We are tired and sore, but we did our best. God bless the people of Western NC and surrounding states who lost so much."

After Hurricane Helene destroyed the Rainbow Bridge at Lake Lure Flowering Bridge in North Carolina, a beloved spot for honoring pets who have passed away, the Baltimore Humane Society is offering a way to continue those memories.

We invite pet owners who visited the Rainbow Bridge to submit their pets’ names, which we will paint on river rocks and place along a pathway in our Baltimore Humane Society Memorial Park.

So many dog behavior problems can be resolved if you focus on the core foundation with patience and persistence. Let me give you an example.

Does your dog pull on leash? This is a result of being disconnected - your dog isn’t thinking about you when they are pulling to get to something else they want. How do you increase connection? You reinforce your dog for paying attention to you when they are on leash. The core foundation that you need is this- one step and stop. Take one step with your dog on leash and stop. Do you still have your dog’s attention? Great! Reinforce them. Be patient and persistent. One step and stop.

This is one example of many where patience and persistence solves behavior problems. Share below what you have resolved with your dog by being patient!
