Rescuing Obi

Little 1-year-old Obi spent a cold night stuck up around 35' in a maple tree in Williston, VT. He is a very sweet cat, and was very easy to work with.

Rescuing "Friday"

Here is the full video of "Friday's" rescue yesterday. He had been stuck up in an oak tree in someones backyard in Williston, Vermont, for several days after likely being spooked by a neighborhood dog. He was a very sweet cat and did great with the rescue.

Rescuing Leila

Here is the full video of Leila's rescue yesterday. She was a total sweetheart and so easy to work with. She had been stuck for a couple of days 45' up in a pine tree (likely chased up by a neighborhood dog). She was extremely cooperative in the canopy and a pleasure to work with.

Rescuing Javier

On Saturday, August 5th, I rescued Javier from a large oak tree in Burlington, VT, where he had been stuck for 3 days. The poor guy had endured 2 days of heavy thunderstorms and downpours. The local fire department had attempted a ladder rescue the day before, but were unable to get him. He was described as sweet, but with a history of being temperamental and biting at times. Up in the canopy he was a mix of sweet and stand-off-ish so I opted not to try and pick him up and instead quickly pulled him from his perch into my animal net placed below him. Everything went very smoothly. Back in the house he was a total sweetheart.

Here is Windermere being released back into his home after five long, wet, days stuck up in a large ash tree. Helluva sweet kitty and survivor! 

Minnie had been stuck for 3 days about 45' up in a Maple tree in Middlebury Vermont after being chased by a wild animal at sundown earlier in the week. She was described as very sweet, but a bit shy. While I was installing my climbing rope in the tree above her, she became further frightened and decided to attempt climbing down on her own. She did great! Here she is down-climbing the remaining 30' of the tree. I'm so proud of her. Shout out to her perseverance, courage, and new climbing skills ☺️

Rescuing "Moon"

Here is the full video of Moon's rescue last week. He had spent at least 3 cold nights stuck up in a large Hemlock tree in Elmore, Vermont. He was around 40' up when I arrived, and then climbed up to about 60' by the time I got to him, but once I gained his trust a bit (wet food), he did great with the rescue. A very sweet kitty.

After a quiet winter, I did my first cat rescue of the year yesterday afternoon up in Georgia, Vermont. Little "Zoey" is a sweet indoor cat that happened to escape the day earlier, and was spooked up a tree by the neighbors dogs. She spent a long, chilly, night up in the top of a spruce tree around 35 feet off of the ground. She gave me a hero's welcome at the top and was a total sweetheart throughout the entire rescue.

Here is some unreleased footage of a dramatic scene back in June while rescuing "Meatball". ( My helmet camera battery died shortly after this moment, so I didn't end up putting a video together of the rescue.... ) Meatball had been stuck for a couple of hot days in the very top of this cedar tree back in late June. After being up in the top of the tree with him for over an hour, and him being about 8 feet above me, out of reach, where I could not safely go, or reach, I ended up pruning out a few small branches that were between us, for better access, and while he was shifting his position he happened to slip and fall, landing right in front of me! I was a little tentative to handle him initially as he had growled at me a few times earlier, and I was coming off a previous rescue where I did get bit- but Meatball did great and let me bag him up and bring him down safely. It was a tough 2 hour rescue, but had a happy ending.
