Rosie comes to us looking for a quiet home with someone that wants to spoil her. She might be able to live with a cat-savvy dog that can respect her space, but would also enjoy being the center of attention as an only child!

We want to thank everyone that came out to Lansing Brewing Company last month to our trivia fundraiser AND, we want to thank everyone who has sent Rosie's a donation through Chewy! All of our donations go directly to cats in our care or back into our community so we couldn't do what we do without all of your support.

We had a quiet summer, but have some fun things in works for this fall, so stay tuned!

What an exciting week! We have had not one, but TWO cat's adopted. And while we might be able to use the phrase "foster fail" in both of their cases, we are thinking it would be best described as a big success! Congrats to both Fred and Alfie for making their foster stays permanent 😊

Meet Rosie's Pet Rescue's newest member, Alfie! This young lady took a couple of weeks to settle in to her foster home, but her foster has updated that she is really coming out of her shell. Her previous home reports that once comfortable, she is a silly lady that enjoys playing with her favorite people and snuggles (on her terms of course!). Stay tuned for more Alfie posts and updates.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, remember to not only think of that special someone in your life, but to also think about resident pets! This field guide from Chewy lists some of the most common poisonous plants and flowers that you should avoid in your bouquets.

Like a lot of animal rescue organizations, we get contacted about outdoor cats often and we unfortunately don't always have the capacity to take them in, but there are still ways to help! The Humane Society of the United States has some good suggestions and recommendations of helping our feline friends survive in the winter.

The sad truth is that some cats have lived their whole lives outside, and at this point they may prefer their independence over a life with people. That doesn't mean the winter isn't hard on them and they usually appreciate help with shelter and food!

If you see a cat outside that you think isn't supposed to be there - maybe they are obviously socialized with people or have a collar/tag - we recommend taking a picture and contacting your local animal control to see if they can find the owner or at least check for a microchip. In addition to animal control, check out and post on local social media lost and found sites that are active in your community!

Catnip, strings, feathers on a stick - these are a few of their favorite things!

Pilo and Kiwi are not only brothers, but they are best friends; these handsome loafs are 5 years old and looking to start the next phase of their lives together! Pilo is a chill cat who enjoys following his people around and Kiwi is loving and playful, but not quite as brave. We are requiring that these guys stick together because, not only do we think that is what is best for them, but we recommend everyone choose double cuddles when offered!

Our 2022 numbers are in - we are happy to report that last year Rosie's has helped place 9 amazing cats into homes!

Now that may not look like a huge number, but we are pretty proud of it for two main reasons: first, we specialize in cats who have litter box accidents; these guys are sometimes looked at as harder to place but we're up for the challenge. Second, we are entirely non-profit and volunteer based; our foster homes and volunteers are donating that time and energy to make a difference in these cat's lives!

We want to thank everyone for their support, and want to let everyone know that the volunteers at Rosie's are excited to hit the ground running to find more forever homes in 2023!

Our mission at Rosie's is to support our community through empathy, outreach, and placement. We wouldn't be able to help the people and pets that we do without the support of the amazing people in our community.
Our behavior helpline is a free service that we provide with the intention to help keep cats in their homes. When this no longer becomes an option, or when life brings on big obstacles, we also want to be there for those that are unable to keep their cats, and help them find great new homes.
