UPDATE: This was shared to invoke thinking about what you might do with your animals if you had to move or had a life change. We can't reply to all comments as there were many shares and many comments. All of your thoughts are relevant and appreciated. We understand there are always extenuating circumstances. Thank you for your comments. It's all about awareness, because the animals need us to speak up for them!

This is Caroline. She moved overseas with all her animals.
She never wrote on Facebook "I'm giving up my cats and dogs because I'm moving"or I'm having a baby or I've had the animal a year, two years or more and now I suddenly don't have time for it or can't afford to feed it.
So, when you get an animal, remember that it’s a fragile creature, part of the family and must follow you everywhere you go, otherwise don’t get one!!
Be like Caroline.

Time for my yearly reminder to not give your kids or anyone live animals for holiday gifts. The decision to get a pet should begin with much research into what the animal will need in terms of time, housing, care, and veterinary support and long discussions about whether or not you are financially, emotionally, and physically able to commit to this animal for the entirety of its life. Get your kid a stuffy and some chocolate for the holiday.

At 6 am she was standing in her box. At 7 am she was face down and dying. At 7:05 I ended her struggle peacefully and watched her take her last breath. She left on invisible wings, free of the body that tortured her, free of a world that poisoned her food.

Lead in the wild is a problem. Eagles eat fish and scavenge carcasses. Leaving lead sinkers and ammo behind is deadly to an eagle. One tiny pellet through their digestive tract is all it takes to kill one of our National Treasures.

Choose brass or steel and help prevent this tragedy. They can't take it. I can't take it.

She was 9.2 lbs emaciated. One of our larger Oklahoma females. She nests no more.

Feel it, share it, mean it. This has to change.

“Pets, it turns out, also have last wishes before they die, but only known by veterinarians who put old and sick animals to sleep. Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what was the most difficult part of his job.

The specialist answered without hesitation that it was the hardest for him to see how old or sick animals look for their owners with the eyes of their owners before going to sleep. The fact is that 90 % of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so that they don't see their pet leave. But they don't realize that it's in these last moments of life that their pet needs them most.

Veterinarians ask the owners to be close to the animals until the very end. ′′It's inevitable that they die before you. Don't forget that you were the center of their life. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. No matter how hard it is, don't leave them.

Dont let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they dont like. It is very painful for veterinarians to see how pets cannot find their owner during the last minutes of their life. They dont understand why the owner left them. After all, they needed their owner’s consolation.

Veterinarians do everything possible to ensure that animals are not so scared, but they are completely strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the pet. Endure this pain for the sake of their sake. Be with them until the end.”

Spent the last 7 days sitting these 2 little cuties.
Ember, 3 & Chloe, 13 both Rat Terriers.
Guy in chair, 50 years NOT a rat terrier😂😉

They fell in love with my husband and staked their claim on him in no uncertain terms.

So, this morning, I get up and let Soapy out to potty. I hear her crying, go to the door and she is just laying in the yard. My heart drops...I go out to her and her toenail is tangled in the long hair on one of her ears and I can't get it untangled.
I bring her inside and take her to my husband to hold her so I can go and get the scissors to cut her free. Before I can hand her over, she starts SCREAMING!
And proceeds to rip her toenail out!
Ugh.
Whelp little girl - I am glad you have plenty of winter sweaters...because...OFF with your hair!

(Copied from a Game Warden)

PSA: Just a friendly reminder that c**n , deer, rabbit , season and squirrel season are open!!! There will be hounds showing up everywhere.. Owners will be happy to come get their dogs if you call them.. These dogs have homes..they are fed... They can look skinny after a couple days of running lost without food.. Yes, it can happen that fast.. Help them get home where they can be fed... DO NOT REMOVE THEIR COLLARS! IT IS A FELONY! That funny looking collar is a tracking collar.. Not a shock collar... This means someone is looking for them! This is what these dogs look forward to.. (no, you can not force a dog to hunt.. They do that because they want to). You are not saving a dog or rescuing one if you take one and try to rehome it.. You're stealing someone's dog. Which is also a felony. Some of these dogs will appear shy or timid... That's because you aren't their owner, not necessarily because the dog has been abused... Most of the time is from not being socialized with people. I know everyone has good intentions, but a little information to help everyone make the right decision might save some heartache for someone else.

PLEASE COPY & PASTE TO GET THE WORD OUT!!

As much as I grow to love every single buddy I care for - just like my own babies, they can't stay with us forever.
Part of pet-sitting is needing to drum up new business. The reasons for that are:
1. Pets eventually go over the rainbow bridge and most clients take their time in getting new ones.
2. Clients relocate to other cities/states.

These 2 situations are where I find myself, currently and it's time to find new buddies to love.
If you are one of my current or past clients, please help me out with this post.
*I no longer do "drop in" services. I am available exclusively for overnight/live in services. (bonus is that you get house sitting/security for free!😊)
Thank You
