Kenzie had a spa day today to get her Spring shedding under control. She has spa days every 6 weeks to maintain a healthy skin and coat, but naturally dogs shed more in the Spring as their body prepares for the warmer months. Proper grooming helps the coat loosen and prevents the undercoat from becoming impacted.

Do you see the clump of hair not moving with the air flow from the dryer? That’s because the hair is matted tight to the skin. Those mats are uncomfortable and sometimes painful for your dog because they’re pulling on the skin. Prevent matting by brushing every couple of days and have your dog groomed regularly.
